We don't hunt from the road. First year bringing a 4 wheeler to travel the one trail that ATVs are allowed on. Just getting us to hard to reach trails without packing everything 5 miles in.

I got in at $82 10 years ago so I'm just riding the wave. But I'm about to pull out a bunch and shift it elsewhere.

That's the best thing about them. You don't have to waste money on a youth model. Adjustable stock makes it a family gun. Invest in a can and you're set for a while.

My soon shoots a 300 blackout. Hornady V-Max 110 grain. Awesome blood trail. I've shot some pigs and bobcats with it. Fun gun.

I have a Ruger M77 .243 with European-style, full-length Mannlicher American walnut stock. Whenever I go shoot it at the range, everyone always ask about it. First 3 deer were with a shotgun. Used the .243 afterwards. Great shooting gun.

It was my first rifle as a kid. My dad traded a black Labrador puppy for it. A guy came to buy one dog, but after seeing the mom and dad, wanted another. He offered the gun and my dad asked me if I wanted a rifle.

Some of the proteins may change from year to year but this is probably the extent of what I've tried.

Further than an hour but they have been catching 16-20, 21-25 shrimp in Point Aux Chene off the public weirs.

I highly recommend a heart rate based program. Garmin actually has some good ones that you can program into your watch. Zone 2 runs are humbling and a pain in the arse at first but the long term benefits are worth the grind.

I know. That's why I've been looking for some Peak ammo. I've gone back and forth on whether to use my .270 or .35 Whelen. All would be fine for a cow.

We'll have a 28 Nosler with us too, so I'll have that option for a far shot.

Shooting ELDX out of my 6.5 CM this year. Hoping to get a cow with it in a few weeks.
