Whenever a coach turns a program like Ole Miss into a legitimate playoff contender, some higher status program will inevitably swoop in and hire said coach before the season is over leaving the players and fans high and dry. This is not good for the sport. We need enforcable anti tampering rules in college football.
He's a good coach but to believe he's guaranteed to be the next Nick Saban is a stretch.

I don’t know if it’s because of NIL or what, but it sure feels like there have been more mid-season head coach firings this year than ever before. From what I remember, it used to be super rare to see a coach get canned in the middle of the season. The whole Brian Kelly situation at LSU might end up setting a precedent against making those kinds of moves. I mean, for heaven’s sake, the guy was probably on track to finish with a winning record—something like 8-4 or 7-5. Couldn’t they have just waited and gotten their ducks in a row instead of rushing in and firing him after only three losses?

Ridiculous power play by LSU. He might not have met the standard expected by Tiger fans and donors but he did have a winning record. Pay the man.

It's pains me to say it but Aggy is the best team in the country. Will they win natty? I don't know. Chances are they'll Aggy it up but for now I'd put my money on them

Lot of football left in this one and I expect LSU to come out in second with their hair on fire. Having said that this is the first real test. Clemson, who sucks, and a bunch of cupcakes didn't really prove much.
