Alvin Dark

I came to add Alvin Dark. He played football, basketball, and baseball at LSU. In addition to his playing days, he was also a manager in the MLB for 13 seasons. I know it was a different era, but not many players did those things.
I pay someone. I am not paying for the mowing, I'm paying for more free time on the weekends.
It sounds like the ADs are getting in on the "create a rumor/get a raise" scheme that Jimmy Sexton has perfected.

Listened to blues guitar all of my life. There are too many great, soulful, interesting players to waste time on Joe B.

That said, I do enjoy his gear videos. You can tell he grew up in a music shop.
I spy a silver face Fender Twin Reverb. That's a monster amp of at least 100W (some are 135W). An interesting choice, as most people today use low-wattage amps at higher volumes.

You'll want to go to 12 South at some point. The girls will appreciate the shopping, and the guys can sit at the Tap Room or Bottle Cap. While you're there, eat at Buttermilk Ranch (best brunch ever), BarTaco, or Fondas. There are a few more great places on that stretch as well. It's peak gentrification, but it's a neat place if you've never been.

I work in healthcare, so I get the flu shot every year. Last year, I got the flu shot, and my older kid did as well. My wife and the other kid didn't. The wife and younger kid got a wicked case of the flu that the first kid and I didn't get. I know, csb, but everyone in our household is getting one this year.

What’s your rationale for formally putting it in his name?

Something to consider is protection from a judgment. Say your college kid owns and insures the car, gets in a wreck, and is sued. They won't have many assets for a lawsuit to target. Presumably, a 50 year old parent would be a juicier target for a lawsuit. But I'm not a lawyer, so ask an expert before swapping names on a title.

The question is, who will sponsor that dumpster fire?

Not a single one of those schools are wearing 6 alternates in your post. That's the point.

I agree with this. The problem is that LSU wears what MLB calls "City Connect" jerseys. They are a completely different design. All of those pictures above are traditional jerseys in secondary colors. If LSU stuck to that, it wouldn't be as bad. Also, the vast majority of traditional programs (like the ones pictured) don't change their iconic helmets. LSU does. That is wrong to me.

What is the firefighting tug on the near side doing (spraying below the 18)?
In 1962, LSU lost to undefeated Ole Miss at home. No way to claim that.

You need to check out Juke Audio. Their device powers speakers in various rooms. You can create speaker groups or connect to one set. The best part is that it is super simple to use.

what would be the point if you are just listening to the music digitized?

Kids of today don't care. They are used to streaming and YouTube. I raised my kids on HD DVDs, SACDs, and HiFi systems, and yet they both listen to record players through Bluetooth speakers. I'm just glad to see the Allman Brothers or Fleetwood Mac on the turntable instead of Sabrina Carpenter.

Can a beneficiary use funds from their 529 plan to pay rent for housing owned by a parent?

Yes, schools provide a cost of attendance that includes room and board as well as misc fees like technology, etc. You can spend up to that amount on those items. If the school says room and board is $20k a year, you can use up to that amount from the 529, even on off-campus housing.
To piggyback on what others have said, it doesn't have to be of super high quality, but make certain that it is Bluetooth compatible. Trust me. They will only listen to it with a Bluetooth speaker or headphones. The yutes of today are not going to invest in an amplifier or speakers.

what am I missing on Roth Conversions?

The growth. For example, you have $1M now, face RMDs in 20 years, which let's just say means you may have $4M then. Paying taxes on the $1M over the next few years will be less than taxes on $4M then.

Roth also protects your spouse if you pass away. A widow in a single payer tax bracket paying out RMDs would be rough.

There is some great software out there that can optimize your RMD strategy. It's quite interesting.

He's currently in high school

If he truly wants to go to med school, he needs to minimize debt in undergrad. He needs to go to LSU or Tech (a cheaper in-state) and not consider Duke or Vandy. While in college, he needs to do research and make good connections with faculty. He likely will need to take a gap year after college. Lining up a good research or hospital job (for that year) ahead of time helps.

All I've ever heard is how expensive med school is - looking at tuition alone (not including living expenses) for 4 years is going to run around 140-150K. Does that sound right?
At least. It's going up 4%-5% annually.

Take it back and get a real Deluxe Reverb or Princeton. If you want to go big, you can always find a Twin Reverb for <$900.
