You admitted you put more stock in what one says and less in what one does.
That's ok, that is your opinion and you can have that opinion.
I'll just disagree with that every time. The words are entirely irrelevant, the actions are all that matters.
You probably believed Zion when he talked about his revenge season too, you do you!
His actions were he rushed his rehab to play in the series. That's a pretty big thing you are ignoring on this. Then he made a scene because they wouldn't let him back out there. You can choose to make your own narrative about it. His actions were that from all accounts he was a gym rat here who was constantly working on his craft and that's probably why guys like Jose and Naji who had to scrap their way into the league respected him. Look, BI wasn't a perfect player; was far from a vocal leader; had a questionable, at best, shot profile; and never reached the ceiling people thought he had when he was drafted. But some of the narrative that got pushed after that series has been pretty overboard.
And no, I haven't believed a word Zion has said or the organization has said in 3-4 years. I can't stand Zion and wanted to sell high on him after that season.

I think you're confusing what he was "saying" on the bench/sideline vs what he was actually doing on the court.
I think it's easy to decipher a dude who is hurt who can't do his normal thing vs a dude who just gave up and wasn't really trying out there, and it seemed pretty obvious imo that it was the latter from BI.

He gave up in that series, he did not try. Why would fans NOT go after him for that?
That is independent entirely of Zion not being available. Not saying allf ans, but for the logical fans, had he gone out there and injured and Dort getting away with a bunch and he didn't play well but it was clear he was giving it all he could, I doubt those logical fans would have crushed him for it.
But again, he quit in that series. He took his ball and went home and didn't even try. I just don't get why people would think he deserves no criticism for that or what Zion not playing has to do with him giving up to ease the trasngression.
See I think his lousy play and having no spring in his step is misconstrued as giving up. The man rushed back before he was physically ready. They showed him getting into it with the coaches on the bench because he wanted to be on the floor and they wouldn't put him back in. Those are interesting methods of giving up.

I will say my opinion of him plummeted in that thunder playoff series, though. Lou Dort made him look like an absolute child. I mean he could do NOTHING against him. I’ve never seen somebody get that absolutely bagged in a bball series
BI rushed back from hyperextension and a bone bruise to play the last game of the regular season and the OKC series. He was atrocious that series, but was obviously far from healthy and I respect that he did everything he could to be there for his teammates. I think it's ridiculous the blame he got for that series given that context and the fact that Zion was once again missing, OKC constantly hunted CJ and JV on the perimeter because neither one could defend out there, and CJ once again was unreliable in the playoffs like he was his entire tenure in Portland.

Perhaps Google should have ponied up when sports leagues were negotiating their TV deals instead of letting Disney gain leverage and control of live sports

We have burned at least one time out every single game because our coaching staff takes an entire play clock to relay to the team which side of the field they want to throw the screen pass to this time.

This whole development has moved embarrassingly slow and not liking that the developer who just purchased that large tract has ties to DSLD. I fully expect The Highline development at Airline and Antioch to be completed earlier at this rate.

He's questioning that because it's just that inexcusable to NOT hand the ball off there. If this inept offensive coaching staff doesn't trust their 5th year QB THAT much, that should tell you everything you need to know about Nuss's ability to run the offense.
Ok, but we had a 5 game sample size going into this game of us being absolutely terrible at RPO plays. The right reads aren't being made by the QB, the OL doesn't know how to block these, our WRs are running routes when they should be blocking, and its long development has put our RBs at a disadvantage. Literally every aspect of the play is run incorrectly and it's been like that all season. Why do you keep on calling a play that never creates an advantage for your personnel? It's not like Nuss makes one bad read every once in awhile that causes a negative play – it's the fact that every single unit is not doing their job over and over again play after play and you keep calling it expecting different results.

He played gutsy and good enough to win the game. If you think otherwise, I don't know what to tell you. Your ire should be the OL to start with. Nuss has a confidence problem right now and honestly, how could anyone blame him with how horrible his line is? It's almost like it starts up front and everyone else starts looking bad. Is that a coincidence? Not really.
Agreed. Not to mention that this WR group that we spent so much money ranks second worst in the conference in drops.

Law enforcement was definitely taking advantage of all of our advanced technology and rapid response capabilities that LSU's leadership boasted in their statement yesterday.

In light of recent events, we write to assure you that we maintain significant resources to ensure public safety. On game day, we typically have 600 trained on-duty police officers representing LSU Police, local law enforcement, and state agencies to safeguard our community. We take full advantage of advanced technologies, including license plate readers, camera networks, and upgraded lighting, which allows for real-time, campus-wide monitoring and rapid response. Our law enforcement presence is fully coordinated. If individuals commit crime on our campus, they will be arrested, and we will work diligently to ensure conviction.
This area is propped up by Exxon and LSU and the latter is seeing a very steep decline.

I agree, getting 3 different schools in the NCAA is impressive but it’s not impossible to win at LSU, we just have to find the another guy and guarantee you they are out there.
The problem is no one within the athletic department, or any other decision maker, has demonstrated any kind of ability or vision on how to build and especially maintain a successful men's basketball program. Eddie Nunez identified and hired Wade at LSU and he is long gone and now at Houston. Wade ruffled feathers because he kept beating the drum about how far behind LSU is in infrastructure and facilities, and it's obvious LSU is still asleep at the wheel with their recent pathetic admission of lack of financial support of the program. It's tough to win at basketball at LSU right now, because it goes so far beyond Xs and Os, especially as long as people like Collis Temple and Dale Brown have university influence. We can dig our heads in the sand and pretend that lack of NIL money is the only thing holding us back, but Johnny Jones couldn't win with a pretty loaded roster either because he frankly was a terrible coach in this league. It's truly inexcusable and malpractice to be this bad at literally everything to do with your second highest revenue generating sport. But hey, Woodward is one of us and the media won't dare question him and Mascona will cover for him because they went to the same high school. I'm pissed that they fired Wade, but I'm way more pissed that LSU is so incredibly incompetent at fielding a competitive men's basketball program my entire life and so much of it is self-inflicted.

An ordinance acknowledging and recognizing the benefits of the proposed Tiger Athletic Foundation Project to build an LSU Arena, and thereby restricting certain uses by City-Parish owned buildings, including the Raising Cane’s River Center, and authorizing the Mayor-President to identify one or more strategies for developing additional convention capacity and soliciting a developer to develop a convention hotel.
There was an Advocate article the other day discussing a study of the potential of renovating/replacing the PMAC. They are wanting to attract concerts and performers, but are trying to figure out how to prevent an upgraded PMAC from competing with the River Center since BR isn't large enough to support both.
From the article:
quote:
Meyer said the study will cost a few hundred thousand dollars. The goal is to coordinate issues such as the feasibility of making major upgrades to the River Center, how that would fit in with LSU’s plans to renovate or replace the PMAC, and the proposed redevelopment of Memorial Stadium. Attracting more quality hotels downtown is also in the mix, along with transit improvements.
“There could be over $1 billion in potential investment if it comes together in the right way,” he said. “The overarching point is to be collaborative and complementary.”
Baton Rouge isn’t a big enough market to support two major arenas, Meyer said, and having a renovated River Center and a new PMAC competing with each other for concerts and events would not benefit the city.
Public-private partnerships will be needed to make any sorts of major improvements. “We’re not taxing our way to pay for new entertainment venues,” he said.
quote:
thereby restricting certain uses by City-Parish owned buildings, including the Raising Cane’s River Center
Another potential interpretation of this is that they are trying to restrict certain performances from happening at the River Center so that they happen at the future PMAC instead.
