So I’m not too worried about getting shot but would consider it a win if my truck didn’t get broken into. Decent odds at this place?
Good location....not terrible, but not the best. Good restaurants nearby (plus a titty bar is very close by)

L'Auberge Casino & Hotel on River Road south of Campus. It overlooks the Miss River. Head down Hwy 30 and eat at Robertos on River Road in St. Gabriel. Awesome and very popular Cajun restaurant inside an 200 year old mercantile store. Then head over to Burnside, La in Ascension Parish to visit and tour the Houmas House Plantation (before that one goes up in flames). The home and gardens are very beautiful. Several great restaurants and have some cocktails at the turtle bar inside the old garconniere next to the main house.

Obviously Anecdotal, but that what’s I’ve seen.
My wife's (born in Tx) family are Mexican/Americans. All love Trump. Even the members that still live in Mexico are 100% Trump.

As far as certifications go, isn't just the series 65 required in Louisiana to be an FA?
Yes, but if wanting to work for a broker/dealer (Merrill, Ed Jones, Ray James, etc.) then the series 7 will be required. If you're not a former professional athlete or have a lot of rich friends and relatives my advise is to start out working as a licensed banker for a bank like JPMorganChase (series 6 required). Do well in that positioned and work way up to a FA. Eventually obtain a CFP designation to separate from the competition.

Is it investor concern that caused the stock market to take a dump on the same day Harris was nominated for president by the Dem party or just a coincidence?
Please don't start with this crap. No....It's a myth! Presidents and most certainly nominees have very lil impact on markets.
Every time I have a client or prospective client tell me they want to wait to see who the next President will be always makes a massive mistake by not following my advice. 100% of the time 6-12 months later they regret it.
re: Hypothetical: Kamala wins. What happens?

I believe the house and senate races are more important. If she does win the Rs will need to control both. IMO that's why Biden dropped out. He would cause some downstream issues for the Ds. Having KH running helps alleviate some of those concerns.

There might have been previously fraudulent transaction on your account and Regions flag it to make sure they check IDs. Fraud is rampant these days. I can't tell you how bad it's been.
That's all I got for ya. Hope you get your money.

My Latina wife voted for Hillary. Not b/c she liked Hillary, but thought Trump was an A-hole with a huge ego. Now she can't get enough of DJT!. Loves him!
re: Should we fear a cashless society or support it?

I don't believe we'll ever go 100% cashless. I say leave it up to the free market economy to decide...businesses and the consumer.

This the epstein guy?
There was a JPMorgan Banker named Staley who Epstein was his client. That relationship started in the late 90s before Dimon became CEO. During those times bankers had a sort of "free rein" with ultra wealthy clients like Esptein. JPMorgan paid millions to US Virgin Islands to make this go away. I haven't seen any evidence that Dimon has any personal relationship with Epstein.
re: The OT's favorite topic this time of year...the temperature...It can actually kill you now
Posted by EmmettFitzHume on 6/17/24 at 9:12 am
When you spend the majority of the day inside and then suddenly go outside then yes the heat can assuredly harm you. As a kid I was outside all the time and my body was acclimated to the temperature. There was always a water hose nearby for a refreshing drink. Not city water....my dad's well.
I don't hear or see the Mexicans installing roofing shingles dropping dead from the heat. Those guys are used to it. .

You were probably predicting 18 months ago that the home sales and vehicle sales were going to “go off a cliff” any day now.
I'm a CFP and work for a top investment firm. Even they weren't these predicting worse case scenarios.
We're going to have a recession, just in time for Trumps 2nd term and the dems will blame him for it.
There's a mountain of consumer debt and consumer spending will slow down.

It's fine now, but won't be in 12 months Yield curve is still inverted and there has never not been a recession after one has occurred.

It started getting a lil ridiculous leading up the final scene/gun battle, but overall very funny.

The American people pay with higher bank fees and rising interest rates for loans.....meanwhile the banks pay their depositors .75% interest on a savings account while the Fed funds rate is over 5%.
You’re clueless. The spread you’re talking about is exactly why SVB (and almost all TBTF banks) had a liquidity problem. The treasuries they bought pay less than the current inflation rate, so they can’t pay out cash until those assets mature. If you closed the spread, the situation gets worse and will require more bailouts.
That's one reason why SVB failed. As rates increased depositors starting move out of traditional banking deposits and into money market funds. The tech industry money dried up therefore no new money coming in the door of SVB. Just matter of time before implosion.
