If you find out how to do it, come back and let me know. Golden handcuffs got me right now. It’d be great to start a business or something, but I don’t have the time or the money. Bills need paying.

Yep! It’s not gonna happen. We’ll be lucky to get a new bridge and widening Nicholson down to Gonzales. Hell, we’re lucky they even found the money for the widening of the main line I-10 thru town.

These neighborhoods are a fricking cancer to the surrounding areas. The developers clear cut a few acres, and build 100 or more shitty houses clad with vinyl siding on tiny arse lots. These little future ghettos then add more misery to the traffic situation that already sucks
The reason West Fel and Pointe Coupee have adopted pretty stringent rules for subdivisions. They saw what happened in Ascension, Livingston, and Zachary with the crappy builders.

It’s a nice area. Nothing special in the grand scheme but very good for LA.

Actual White Americans really don’t care. The inferiority complex of Europeans is monumental. They’re so easy to ragebait in comment sections.

you have to consider when I10 was built in the 50s/60s there is no way those designers could have ever fathomed the amount of traffic the interstate system would carry.
This is particularly true on this section of I-10 alignment. Texas and Florida were not the massive populations they are now. Every other car on I-10 is either TX or FL plates. Traffic would be no big deal without those. But all the commerce flows thru.

Good for whoever held it up. Imagine the shitstorm he must’ve endured from the other jurors who were drooling over the notion of letting a child killer walk free.

Why cant Louisiana, Mississippi , Alabama, and Florida come together and expand our interstate highway system.
You are traveling on the main beach route at the tail end of Labor Day weekend, for one. But I’ll give you that traffic is almost always pretty heavy along the route.
It’s gotten much worse in the last 20 years or so and these states are catching up while trying to prioritize huge backlogs of other projects.
I assume MS will probably be the first to have the route fully six lanes as they have the fewest competing priorities for funding.
Alabama can’t even contemplate significant widening work until they deal with the VERY expensive new bridge in Mobile to replace the tunnel with a bridge. Then you have the Bayway at only 4 lanes…$$$$
Widening the entire length of I-12 in LA is straightforward by comparison, and the most critical miles have been addressed first. But there are more critical projects elsewhere in the state in dire need of funding.

Seems like the city is improving dramatically from a crime standpoint. I know it gets a lot of negative reviews on this board but what is driving the drop in crime?
You’ll never convince some people that progress is being made. Hating on New Orleans and Baton Rouge (and to a slightly lesser extent, LA in general) is some of these people’s whole personality.

Hammond needs to crack down. It could be a decent place if crime was under control.

Looking at the census figures from 2000, 2010, and 2020, that’s the very least of your worries on the West Bank.

It’s a pretty weird experience. Doesn’t freak me out, but it definitely makes you feel a little smaller than driving back East.

Nashville is gone.
Around the time we moved from Memphis area back to BR, census data showed the years long pattern of people within TN leaving Shelby County (Memphis) for Davidson County (Nashville) reversed. Regular TN folk can’t deal with the cost of living out there anymore. And the crime is almost as bad. And the roads in Nashville are beyond f***ed.

What’s #4 after MS, GA, and LA?
South Carolina or Alabama?
Or wild card Maryland?
