Galaga would wear your arse out! Some and my buddy decided one guy would shoot and the other moved the ship. The day we hit top score you would have thought we won the lottery!! We celebrated with large sno balls. Best of times.

Hard to pull for the guy. From Lafayette, went to LSU and representing Sweden. His excuse is track and field is more popular there.

re: Richard Simmons Has Passed Away

My uncle was in his class at Cor Jesu, which later merged with St. Aloysius to form Brother Martin, my alma mater. My uncle told me his classmates called Simmons the penguin because he was so fat he waddled when he walked. He was bullied without mercy for 4 years.

Despite the abuse he not only changed himself, he made it his mission in life to help others get healthy and learn to love themselves. Along the way he became a success and was literally the face of physical fitness in the 80s. Despite the money and fame he stayed humble and always kept his focus on helping others. Yeah, he was quirky and he was gay, but so what. He was a good person.

Cor Jesu Is Latin for the heart of Jesus. The core message of Jesus was to love one another. That is how Richard Simmons lived his life. Proud to have him as a member of the alumni of the Brothers of the Scared Heart. RIP.
In 84 I was 15 years old in New Orleans with a 78 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme and a fake ID that was a real Louisiana license. Back then all you needed was a birth certificate and a SS card. Your buddy would give you his older brothers documents and you go to the DMV and walk out legal to drink in any bar. Mainly hit the uptown bars, The Boot, Metro, AT2’s, etc.
I survived those years by the grace of God.
Replacing bearings is easy. I learned by looking at a couple of videos on YouTube. Takes about a hour. Invest in a bearing puller from harbor freight. Much cheaper than new motor.
I spent 20 years there and my daughter graduated from LSU nursing school last year. She lived off of Magazine St. near Napoleon Ave. Best advice I can give you is what I gave her, learn the city. There are some areas you absolutely don’t go into, especially after dark. The problem is nice areas are so close to bad areas that everywhere is within striking distance of criminals. Areas that might seem safe might not be, like Canal Street. Also at night travel with a group.
With that being said she had a great time. Parades were 1 block from her house, the live music scene and all the good restaurants were a wonderful experience. Then she graduated and got out.

The book was a fascinating read. Comanches had the upper hand until the colt, which “tamed the west”. It allowed the rangers to get in close and have 18 to 24 shots as they carried multiple revolvers. The Comanche were the best riders in the west. They could accurately fire multiple arrows while hanging upside down at a full gallop. They could ride hundreds of miles to raid. True badasses who gave no quarter and rightfully so, none was given to them.
Well said. I am simply amazed how people I have known and respected my entire life have abandoned reason and logic and will believe anything Trump says. His ability to manipulate the fear and anger of the populace to suit his needs is frightening. He is without honor.
In my younger days I could and did on a regular basis. I was a competitive swimmer and trained for 2 hours in morning and 2 in the evening. Swim practice is like solitary confinement. You can’t talk to anyone, all you have is your thoughts. I could listen to the entire first album by Boston in my head. That tells you how old I am.

Beg to differ. A brisket that has the right amount of fat and is smoked properly is the bomb!
My son did the same thing when he was 12. He was a happy, funny kid who had lots of friends but he was the chubby one. We went to the beach and he met up with his friends and some girls. When he came back to the condo one evening he did not want to eat. He wouldn’t say what was wrong but it was obvious somebody made fun of him and he took it hard. When we got home he would not eat. He started to exercise but was much more withdrawn. He lost the weight but was troubled. The funny happy kid was gone. Wife wanted him to see a therapist. I was against it but she won out. Glad she did, it helped him a lot. He now is physically and mentally healthy.

Frankly it sucked when it happened but life ain’t fair and he will be a better man for having gone through it.
Gordon is so intent on capturing every dollar he is indoctrinating kids into our sue happy culture. He has stacks of “Super Gordon” coloring books in his lobby next to the video games. He is like Superman stopping an evil 18 wheeler from running over alligators and other swamp critters. Also has plenty of Jesus Swag for the religious folks. You like dogs? Got his miniature poodle on billboards all over BR. Ridiculous.
Only two ways to change it. One is to contact your legislators and raise hell but good luck with that. Lots of lawyers are legislators and the lawyer lobby is very strong. The other is to serve on a jury in a civil suit and you and the other 11 members see through all the B.S. and make a reasonable award or send the plaintiff home with nothing.
Defender was the first arcade game I remember playing at the Time Saver on Downs Blvd. in Metairie. That game was hard as hell!!!

I throughly enjoyed this movie. Human elements of guilt, despair and hope combined with a badass monster. You don’t have to be a sci-fi nerd to enjoy, although I am one. Word must be out, theater was 90% full.

Don’t forget The Metro. That was my first time in a bar, 15 years old and got so drunk I was hungover for 2 days. They had killer pizza also.
I second that but for different reasons. For the math to work all participants needed to be at “full attention” when their number was called, got in and got out with no issues. Where the hell were they lined up? Nobody got stage fright?

Did UW band play neck??

Heard it while Washington’s coach was interviewed.
See as much of the world as you can. It will open your mind and make you realize how lucky we are to live in this country, warts and all.
