re: Who is the more conservative candidate in Texas? Hunt or Paxton?
Posted by LSUGrad2024 on 2/11/26 at 11:12 pm to Padme
On a percentage scale:
Paxton: 80-90% Conservative
Hunt: 75-85% Conservative
Cornyn: 35-45% Conservative
Paxton is a dirtbag. But he's one of us (conservatives), so he's our dirtbag. Whereas Cornyn is a dirtbag, but not one of ours.

It's a fluke, but will be useful to rally Republicans to realize they need to start actually doing something for a change.
Quite literally nobody knew this weird special election was happening
3 days of the early voting was while ice had blocked most roads
Most Republican faithful are focused on the Primary election in March.

re: Just once it would be refreshing for a Republican governor to oppose ‘Price Gouging Laws’
Posted by LSUGrad2024 on 2/1/26 at 9:57 am to weagle1999
Here is why you are wrong.
Price gougers are worse than just raising the prices of their own stock.
The Pajeets, Punjabis, and Arabs go to HEB/Walmart etc and buy up all the milk and other supplies they can, then sell it in their shops at 2x/3x the price.
And as we have been finding out all across the nation like in Minnesota, and California, Maine, and New York....these people use food stamps that have been issued to them or their family members, to stock up their "convenience stores"
Frick them. They can all go to Hell. Fracking immigrants coming into my country, and trying to screw over Heritage Americans.

Small government can't defeat Communists.
If we were playing on an even playing field, I'd support Rand. But we are fighting against the Godless profligacy of the Left.

My little sister played the Harry Potter video game for a few days before stopping. First thing I noticed was that the Hogwarts school was all Pajeets, Muslims, and Blacks. There's a handful of white people in the game.
I imagine HBO will do something like that. Makes absolutely no sense, but the DEI will likely be strong.

I spent 3 weeks in Thailand/Vietnam hitting up beaches etc.
After 3 weeks, I was tired of it. It gets old pretty damn quickly. I figure most of y'all have never tried eating certain cuisines exclusively for more than a few days.
I could eat American Southern cuisine/Cajun/Burgers for the rest of my life and never need anything else.

We could be in a very different place 6 months from now.
It feels like Trump has been in office for years. But it's just shy of a year.
What really needs to be done, is kick out enough illegals to tilt the balance of the elections, turning it heavily toward Republicans. Then go apeshit on the Dems for 2 years.

re: Question for the OT’s Catholics

Catholic Church guidelines like the (GIRM) General Instruction of the Roman Missal, provide no "plan B" for spilled consecrated wine (the Precious Blood). But it sounds to me like he spilled before the consecration and transubstantiation into The Blood.
If it had been True Blood, there would have to be numerous steps to rectify. First, immediately absorb as much of the spill as possible using purificators, which are special white linen cloths reserved for handling the Eucharist (multiple may be needed depending on the amount). Then, wash the affected area with clean water and a fresh cloth to remove any residue, ensuring the spill isn't left to dry. Pour all the used water directly into the sacrarium, a special sink in the sacristy that drains into the earth (not a regular drain or sewer), to dispose of it reverently. Finally, soak the soiled purificators and cloths in water to dissolve any remaining traces, pour that water into the sacrarium, and then launder them normally
The Mass remains valid. Your priest's word change and fake sip are not found in any official rules, so he probably improvised on the spot to keep the liturgy flowing during an unexpected accident.

I don’t know how my parents did it, but I’m one of 5 boys and 2 girls. We wrestled and sometimes and got angry, but rarely.
Maybe it has something to do with the fact that they always made the older kids take care of us younger ones. We’d have to do diapers/naps/tuck them in after prayers, babysit, make the snacks etc
