I have 15lb Power Pro Super 8 Slick V2 on all of my inshore reels and I've had the same line on some of those reels for 3 years. The line has faded, but I haven't had an issue of the line breaking under load. I usually replace the line when I've had to cut out so many wind knots from my wife, daughter, or guest fisherman, that I'm more concerned with line capacity than I am with line strength. I usually change out my mono line every two years, since it costs so much less than braid.

I've always wondered if there was some money to be made by creating a near exact replica of Augusta National and charging people an arm and leg to play it. Part of the mystique of that course is the exclusivity.

There is a golf course in Myrtle Beach that replicated 18 of the most iconic holes in golf called World Tour Golf Links. I played there years ago on a golf trip with some friends, and it was a pretty cool concept and I enjoyed it, but the traffic that went through the course due to the popularity, really beat the course up. It wasn't worth what we paid to play, but fun none-the-less.

Has anyone had any experience with these rods?

HVAC Help Needed

Posted by TheYellowhammer on 4/8/24 at 5:02 am
Long story short, my HVAC unit is 9yrs old with 1 year remaining under warranty. I started having issues with it running low on refrigerant after 2 years. My HVAC guy thought that the leak was coming from the expansion valve and replaced it that time with it being covered under warranty. A couple of years later, the unit can't keep up, so he comes out again, he can't locate a leak and refills it with refrigerant again. I had to call him out again last week for the same thing, he still can't locate a leak, but thinks it "may" be in the coil but he's not certain. This time charges me for 6lbs of refrigerant which was over $330.
So my question is this, if the leak is caused by a manufacturer defect, should I be charged for the refrigerant? I can handle paying the labor, I know manufacturer warranties don't cover the labor costs.
He also tells me that the unit will leak down again and that it would be between $700-$800 just in labor to replace the coil. I guess I'm struggling with paying that kind of money for a job, that he's not certain will fix my issue. Any HVAC guys have any advice or thoughts?
I fish with 15lb braid to a 15lb flouro leader, tied with an alberto knot. I've been tying it for years and I have never had it to fail. I fish the low-country in SC so what works here may not work for you guys in LA but the Zman Texas-eye jigs and Zman Diezel Minnowz are a deadly combination here. You can slow reel it with an intermittent light jerk for more action or you can bounce it off the bottom, I've had luck fishing it both ways. The Mirrolure Top Dawg or the Heddon Super Spook are my favorite top water lure for the early morning and late evenings when the sun is rising or setting. Good luck, tight lines!

One of my friend's dad was a high school history teacher here in SC and he was one of those teachers that truly loved what he did and was an absolute wealth of knowledge, especially when it came to SC history. A few years ago, he told me there was a theory that the crescent wasn't a moon, and that some people believed it to be a gorget (armor piece protecting against bayonets in the area above the breast plate and below the chin). I've lived here for over 25 years and never heard that until then. Whether its true or not, its still a pretty cool story, and the flag is by far, one of the best in the US.

All the Atlantic snapper must be hiding in the Gulf. We only had one, two day season. The SAFMC has ruined fishing for the recreational guys.
Sorry, hadn't had my coffee yet.
