Blead the Freak- what a song
As I Lay Dying, Cane by Jean Toomer, and--although it doesn't seem like it on the surface-- Children of the Neon Bamboo.

Children of the Neon Bamboo-- 10/10 recommend.
Funny you mention Gravity's rainbow. I was gifted a copy, and I'm dreading starting it. I want to read some Pynchon, but I need something more accessible. Maybe the "lot" one?

I'll check that out. Alazando comes off as a goober. I hope we didn't hire him to do our serious intelligence work.
375 pages in. Some of it is a real slog. There are moments that are so clever that they keep me reading, but often times I resent the book. His energy for words is amazing, but dang it could be a perfect book if he just used the best 300 pages.

Living in Sooner country, they certainly hate Texas....but, the hate has cooled since they joined the SEC. They are kinda grouping together. Like their success is shared. Kinda beta.

Children of the Neon Bamboo would be perfect for a precocious teen. A nice transition into proper literature.
Margeret Mitchell and Louis Bujold are great. So is Annie Dillard.

As a regular to Sweden with lots of friends there, this just isn't true. The stereotype that they do it a lot more than most when younger is mildly true. But in general, I'd say they're actually harder to impress in person than most peoples.
