Where in TN? A few Krewe members live up there.
Middle TN. North of Nashville. Moved here years ago for work. It has been good to us.

Had some during this past weekend down in Grand Isle. They are becoming my favorite. On the way back to TN now….
Yuge thanks to the FBD krewe for introducing me to these.

Its much more upscale and hip for someone like yourself. You've laid out your preferences in here, and Seaworthy would not fit that criteria at all. Luke might be too nice for you as well. Drago's is definitely more your self-described wheel house This is not a criticism, everyone likes what they like, you've made it very apparent you prefer hole in the wall type of places
Nah, I get it. No criticism or offense taken. We hit some upscale places some, then some dives some. This trip is more of a dive mood but Luke looks interesting so may hit that. Been to Dragos too, along w/ Acme, Commanders, etc. Just looking for something different. Culinary wise we are all over the board. Just depends on what we feel like. Thanks.

it’s more of a bar that serves oysters and other happy hour type stuff, kinda hipstery. I don’t care for all that much. You aren’t missing anything Oysters at Luke are fantastic and they have a pretty varied menu otherwise. It’s a John Besh restaurant, but casual
Gotcha. Thanks

Leaning towards Luke. Will see once we get there.
Thanks again all.

Back to top Delacroix is fairly new and damned good. But can Mrs. Panda handle that walk
Eh, if she brings her boot maybe (but she hates it). That would be an uber.
Appreciate it
I saw the Walk Ons place, but that looks similar to a BWW. I like hole in the wall places mainly.
Would love to find a spot where I could get some good oysters
NOLA downtown dinner question

Heading to Grand Isle soon and stopping in NOLA for a night possibly. Most likely the Homewood on Poydras is where we will stay. Is there any place (hard for the Mrs to walk long distances right now) that’s pretty good and you’d recommend? No stranger to downtown but it’s been a while.
Have already hit the touristy stuff like Deanies, Pat O’s, etc. I personally like the bar and grill vibe. On our trip down last year we hit Cajun Mikes and it wasn’t good. Out of stuff, smelled like sewage, roach crawled across the bar…LOL. Maybe that was a 1 off…who knows.
Thanks all.

Grand Isle gets a ton of shite but I absolutely love the place and so do my wife and kids, though maybe I'm a bit trashy. Is it Destin? Hell no, but we always have a damn good time. Fishing, beach cruises on the SxS, running crab lines with the kids, dinner and some tunes and a bushwhacker or 3 at Grand Isle Marina, checkin out the questionable characters on the fishing pier, looking at all the big boats at Hurricane Hole, etc.
100%. I always love it when we make the trip down from TN to visit my Dad, Brother, SIL, and nephews down there. Damn good time.

Usually “I want” or “she’ll have” if I’m ordering for my wife.

I had one for 15yrs, and had friends w/ several others. There were some bad years, but overall the 2000-2010 build years were pretty solid. I think the next 5-7ish had some problems but they’ve seemed to reel that back in.
I’ve been by the factory and talked w/ their public relations person a few times. Nice people.
Have a bud who just picked up a 1997 266BR w/ a 454. Freaking thing looks brand new. I know that’s old, but the lines hold up today and if it’s taken care of, they are typically great boats.

I’d run away fast from a Tahoe unless they’ve improved drastically.
You may want to check out something like the E series Crownline, Hurricane, or maybe Starcraft but watch the gelcoat.
