Well, apparently our RPI dropped after winning the regional so Jay better get the team ready or they won’t advance.

It seems that RPI is still critically important in terms of power rankings and matchups per a very intelligent poster in another thread

Damn. We all know how important that RPI is too at this point in the season.

Hope this doesn’t negatively impact our chances to advance

Self-righteous is definitely the term for some of the comments in this thread. I try real hard not to say too much, when I want to go off sometimes, but after Sunday night, I calmly suggested what I thought needed to be done differently, including the lineup, and I wasn't the only one. And it's almost like Jay read the board. Did he actually? Of course not, and it would be silly for any of us to take credit for anything, but the point is that not everyone who had a dissenting opinion is some idiot who just reacts emotionally. But, that's what some people like to pretend is going on, while also pretending that they, themselves, were just super calm these last two days. It's disingenuous and nauseating. If we had lost, my guess is that they wouldn't be in here defending anyone

You’re right. Some of us avoid the board during games and after losses bc what’s really nauseating is the overreactions of so many that often include personal attacks on people. The most sickening part is the board is also littered with trolls like lsuag or whatever his username is mocking “POWERHOUSE” and making one inflammatory comment after another about the entire program as if LSU should win every game.

The uninformed, but passionate fans are one thing because it is a message board after all. The trolls, whom most of these posts you’re referring to are probably really directed at are another. I’m not sure why they are allowed to pollute the board.

If this place had any sort of real enforcement of the board rules, it could be a great place for true discussion. Instead, those threads are few and far between during games or after losses.

Of course people can be upset and negative but some of it goes way too far and is simply without basis. It’s hard to sort through the trash on those occasions and many of us simply choose not to do it.

The fact is Jay is the head coach. You don’t have to agree with all that he does. I don’t either. But what we all need to understand is that he does know more about his team and the other team than we do. There’s a reason he’s the head coach and widely considered as being among the nation’s elite head coaches and there is a reason none of us are in his position at LSU or any other baseball program.

Saying so doesn’t make anyone self-righteous. It makes that person self-aware and emotionally intelligent.

Big difference.
