Oh I see what you mean. My apologies

Well I wouldn’t get to excited either way. I know Kansas tried to get this kid last year and all that but we will see if his game translates to mighty sec per pirate king

It's a last name so I suppose he can pronounce however he wants but if it's pronounced normally it's with an S sound, not a Z.

But it’s from the fraunch
If Lacivert is reporting it, you can take it to the bank.

Assuming players aren’t good cause they were on a bad team is short sighted & just kind of ignorant, actually.

You’re assuming what my basis for my statement was the team’s record and that’s inaccurate.

There were a couple of kids who I’m sure Wade would’ve kept for the right price but I doubt he’s losing sleep over not keeping anyone either. Look at the landing spots of all but 3 kids. That says a lot about how many others view their talent level.

you have 9 spots to fill vs a handful, your approach will be different and the impact of not landing guys you really want will be felt. Same applies if it’s a down year, like this one.

I agree. When your roster sucks you are in a tough spot.

What’s McMahon have to do with anything? Why is he even brought up still?

Highlighting the fact that Wade didn’t really want to keep any of the roster. At most maybe one or two kids. I can’t imagine there was anyone else worth paying

That’s fine and dandy but we will see if it translates to the mighty sec amirite ?
quote:

the issue becomes you are then at the mercy of who does or doesn’t enter the portal. Next thing you know you’re catching a plane to Europe to find talent

Isn’t everyone at the mercy of who does or doesn’t enter the portal? What if a coach thinks he can get better players in Europe?

Lots of variables to consider huh? I mean it’s not like McMahon recruited very well. If he did, then he’s clearly not the coach some on here make him out to be
quote:

He’s not a good defender at all but he is an upgrade defensively over PJ Carter

Give me snipers all day and teach them to defend.
This is the kid Kansas wanted badly but I’m sure the usual suspects will be along shortly to piss on the commitment.
Hudson counts as well. He’s a top 25 player in basketball I believe. Not too bad
quote:

Wade wasn’t a fan much of the portal talent this offseason. Not jumping the gun on those guys has basically given us priority pick on these international guys

Yep. All the negativity about missing on guys is typical bs. He didn’t just suddenly decide to go scout international players lol. It’s been on his radar for a while.

Elite player. Devastating loss for LSU
quote:

haven’t seen a timeline for Dobson announcing, have you?

No I haven’t either
quote:

Shea is constantly out scooped. Unless the player is a no brainer LSU lean then I wouldn’t trust what he says.

Not really. He’s also very conservative so if he’s saying LSU and other board insiders say LSU I’ll trust them at this point.

Fong swore Pickett was going to Miami or Oregon this time a couple years ago. He’s not perfect. Again, he changes his picks at the last minute all the time when it becomes clear where a kid is going.

Panic if you want but I sure wouldn’t.

Dobson loves Raymond and as long as LSU is competitive with the money I would bet on him signing here.
quote:

What about the insiders like Jackie and such?

The ones who have posted are still saying LSU. I’ll trust them over Fong this far from signing day.

Remember Pickett.

Fong changes picks last minute to make it look like he’s never wrong but in reality he is a lot.
quote:

Man, some of y'all need to get a grip. Oh he's not good anyway... wouldn't be saying that if he committed to LSU. They just paid him to come there... while LSU has the most expensive roster in country. Its ok to just take an L sometimes

You missed it. That’s Lester’s go to when there’s anything recruited related that comes out that isn’t pro LSU about a kid. He always posts “‘meh, he’s not that good anyway”

It’s part of his troll/contrarian thing that he’s been doing on this board for like 20 years.

He’s not serious.

Dobson is obviously good. FWIW shea isn’t in agreement, Fong is often wrong this far out, and it’s early May.

Calm down.
Nc state fans said he sucks and plays no defense.
quote:

Pretty sure it’s sarcasm

My post was as well.
quote:

used to naively believe that most if not all successful coaches cheat, but I've been set straight by an EYBL coach on the rant. He told me a lot of coaches recruited the right way pre NIL. I was informed in particular, that Jay Wright, Tony Bennett, and Mark Few have NEVER CHEATED, because they always recruited properly unlike that retrobate Will Wade who we made a mistake in rehiring. Would you like a chance to amend your statement that all the successful coaches cheat?

This is correct. Wade was the only coach paying players before NIL. Nobody else was cheating.
quote:

we offered him that much he would be here already. They probably aren't giving him 5 let alone 8.

Nc state board said it so it must be true
quote:

NC State just took a commitment from a transfer guard from Maryland. Has to be help out chances with McNeil.

The fact that we are offering McNeil 8 million per year helps us the most
