Everyone was under thrown. Sure it’s a timing issue but let’s not take this as gospel and a look in the future.

That’s great and we’re all ready to ride to the ship.

Really depends on how they die. Truth is, if after 6 months it was made public, they had a connection way sooner. Maybe even before death.
Really depends on how a person dies. Sudden and tragic my wife better mourn me for years. If she’s been dealing with my treatments and wiping my arse for years, I’m good with a quicker turnaround

It’s a percentage increase. Obviously the more you make, the higher the increase.
And yes, they make higher than “beat” cops. The issue I have is when there is someone in a managerial or supervisor role, but has never done the job (or assumed the risk) themselves.

re: At what age do you really start realizing death is gonna happen in your own life?
Posted by Dirt Booger on 3/18/26 at 12:52 am to AMac
Around 40. Not many live to 80. Heart attack, colon cancer, disease, etc. I feel pretty healthy at 44 but I know I’m over half way done. If I double it and make it to 88, the last 10 years will suck. So, I can’t do this again. I’ll do it half cocked and I’ll be dead. Nothing to look forward to other than retirement. So for the second half of my life I’m not living towards something, rather than just finalizing plans

I disagree. All cops ( sheriff, municipal, state, etc) are not professionals in law. That’s why they have to put an affidavit in front of a judge. They gather info and present it to someone with an elevated law degree to make a decision.
A “cop” isn’t the issue. We all agree most are dumb as shite. That’s why there are checks and balances. Qualified immunity argument only works if this was an on site probable cause arrest.
This wasn’t the case. A judge that sits the bench for the entire district signed an arrest warrant based off unproven evidence.
To me, it’s all on the judge

The judge that signed the arrest warrant with only unproven AI facial recognition as the probable cause should be held responsible.

A few years ago I was talking with a game warden. He told me about his attempts at catching a neighbor baiting turkeys. He described every food plot I have and said he was setting up on me waiting to hear my neighbor shoot.
I usually don’t go in till mid morning turkey hunting and that year I couldn’t find a bird. Turns out this douche was running everything off. To make it worse, my neighbors don’t turkey hunt. They run feeders in the spring and shoot hogs with thermals.
Game Wardens investigating criminal activity on private lands should be forced to get a search warrant before entering the property. If access through neighboring property is required, it should be granted only through land owner permission or as part of the search warrant
