Hey Terd , I’d replace Springfield with Satsuma. Other than that your list is spot on.
In late 83 while working at a Chemical plant in Geismar I witnessed a plant operated boil himself by opening a steam valve too fast into a column filled with hot water. The job was nearing its end and the plant was taking over completed systems , cleaning them by steaming , and getting them ready to go into service . This particular steam loop was not complete to this column so he opened the steam to the column manually, then climbed up onto the scaffolding to look into a man way. Steam went in too fast, water in column belched out the top and covered his entire body with scalding water. The only part of his body that wasn’t burnt was under his hard hat.

When a coworker and I got him to a safety shower and tried to rinse and cool him all his skin sluffed off his body. He died about 3 days later due to pneumonia.
How much would I spend ?

I don’t know the answer to that question, but I do know I’ve spent around $8000 on a feist terroir for snake bite to the head and histoplasmosis only to have him get run over trying to count mufflers. If I had him back I’m sure I’d spend it again if necessary.

I saw a federal judge tell a business owner his excuse wasn't good enough

That had to suck for that business owner.
RE: Getting out of Federal Grand Jury Duty …..

When I went for Fed jury duty in BR some years back the Judge asked the prospective jurors 3 questions

1. Do you have small children at home ?
2. Do you own your own business ?
3. Are you in any way physically or mentally unable to sit on this jury ?

If you couldn’t answer yes to any of these you were SOL (shite outta luck) and had to hope you weren’t called.

I was the 2nd juror called on an 18 month probe ! Those were the days I tell ya .
I don’t know the reason why they were removed. I haven’t paid much attention to what’s goes on in California other than the recent fires.

ETA. I’m not sure if the covers were removed during the draw down.
Covers prevent water loss via evaporation.
Number 2 is the easiest to answer, the rest, I think most of us see it the same way.
The hesitation by the counter sniper could be due to the way the assassin was dressed and his location. He was in fatigues similar to what military and police wear and located where some protection should have been.
He fires first and its law enforcement or the SS detail, he’s toast for life. That’s what I think about #2 anyway.
Sign me up . Around since 06 . Took the leap in 08 .
Bow down
The polls opened here at 7AM for this election. Past elections we have opened the polls at 6AM. I don’t know the reason for the time change. That may be why people were saying 5he polls were locked.
I know for a fact that the French Settlement Elementary was not locked from 7AM till 8 PM. I was there ! You’ve been lied to.
Do you have an idea what you’d take for the lot as shown with the whistle? I might be able to save you some trouble.
Did a quick search on EBay , didn’t see the duck calls listed. If those are triple reed yentzen calls I’d like to try and get those from you .

re: Statins for cholesterol? Yes or No

Statins nearly wrecked me ! Muscle enzymes went out of wack , took 7 years to do it though. I tried Zetia after, can’t take it either. If you do go on a statin watch your muscle enzymes closely . Simvistatiin is the worst, avoid if at all possible.

I don’t recall if all records were burned ?

Marine and Naval records are intact. Army records were significantly impacted, not sure about Air Force .
Go online to Redbird Research . Lori Miller is the person who does the searches for this business. It’s her business I think ? She works at the St Louis Archives and will do search’s by request for 50-75 dollars. I’ve used her a half dozen times or so.
You’ll need some basic information, such as DOB, state of birth , and what branch of service. She’ll take it from there. If results are available you’ll receive them in about 2 weeks, that’s better than 9 months to a year.
Good Luck !
