Well we found a room - $350 on Hotels.com for a total dump Econolodge but it's gonna be great.
Still in the market for either 3 (preferred) or 4 tickets. Upper or lower, let me know what you got.

Decided fairly last minute to go to the game this weekend - excited about it.
Looking for 3 tickets in the LSU section - probably happy to do the upper level. Would take four if you had and could resell the other one as a single.
And also looking for a hotel room in Tuscaloosa proper if anyone has an extra they don't need.
email at eventstaffjobs@gmail.com if you have either.

How to best attack these weeds (back yard rowhouse patio in Washington, DC)
Posted by omfgeauxtigers on 6/13/22 at 10:48 pm
Hey all -
This is the 2nd summer we've been at this rowhouse on capitol hill in DC with a small backyard.
For some reason, far more weeds between these pavers.
So many more that I don't recall doing any weeding last year at all, and with no treatment at all or work done yet, it's like a little green forest out there.
What is the best way to attack these so that they're gone, and don't come back...at least for a few months.
Some photos attached:
Thanks for y'all's help in advance.

I've been a reader for 13 years on this site and though I don't post much I do lurk on way too many threads.
The OT and the poli board can be an absolute cesspool of cynicism and stupidity on a good day, but I must say this thread of several pages of earnest advice and people sharing their stories with nary a shitepost to be found is probably the nicest I've seen on here...maybe ever.
Hope the OP gets some comfort from others and wishing you all the best.

Honestly, I think you have a decent shot -- because everyone else is going to be freaking out about the POTUS security, they're going to enter early, I bet the rush will be already processed through by the time you are rolling up 10 mins before kickoff.
Same with traffic.
I bet you make it for kickoff.

re: The Peach Bowl (LSU vs Oklahoma) just released some tickets on TicketMaster for face value
Posted by omfgeauxtigers on 12/9/19 at 9:35 am
Standing room seats are $175 on stubhub after fees
Real seats are $199 with fees.
There are 11,900 tickets already listed on StubHub.
This will be a cheaper ticket than the SEC Championship game, by far.
Don't buy now, folks. Be patient.

NYTimes: "The Preacher and the Sheriff" feature about New Iberia

Long feature from the NYTimes published yesterday, really good read. Wanted to get y'all's thoughts.

The Preacher and the Sheriff
quote:
New Iberia, a small city surrounded by sugar cane 100 miles west of New Orleans, is bisected by railroad tracks. North of the tracks, where residents are predominantly white, most believed that Victor White III committed suicide. In the largely black neighborhoods south of the tracks, most residents shared the Whites’ conviction that their son was executed by the cops. In the months of heartbreak and rage that followed, New Iberians tended to believe the official account of the “Houdini suicide” to the extent that they approved of the performance of Louis Ackal, the sheriff of Iberia Parish.

I may be one of the very few on here but I think you're spot on. If anyone who has watched this team this year is comfortable going forward with UL-L's ace pitching tomorrow has their head in the sand. Baseball is a funny game and Karma is a b….h but there was way too much celebration going on for a game 1 in a best of 3. It used to be getting to Omaha was a given for this program. Now LSU is tearing shirts off beating a Sun Belt team who had to win their tournament to get a bid. Oh how times have changed.
get a life, dude. it was a walk off HR.

Sometimes it is just a fatal distraction. Often it has to do with a break in routine and a horrible mistake is made. Some people can never forgive themselves. Of course there are some who forget because they never think about their kids anyway.
you had an extra period in the link, it's here
i wanted to fix the link because this is one of the most amazing newspaper pieces written -- it won gene weingarten his 2nd pulitzer prize for writing it. i almost have to read through the whole thing everytime i come across it.
