re: Reminder of exactly what the signers and founders of this nation were putting on the line.

There are plenty of other countries to choose from bud…renounce and move on. I’m a first gen immigrant; my father made it clear to me that people complain about this country up and down but they all want to consume the bounties of America bc it is by far the best deal out there today for someone who wants to succeed.
What these men put together is nothing short of a miracle and the world is better for it hands down.

The bottom line is they are going to be very competitive and very much a potential contender. No one should come out and say yea we are set to win it all this year, that doesn’t do anyone at LSU any good. He needs to hammer into everyone’s heads that this is going to be a monumental task and we have to rise to the challenge every day.

Perfect insight into the energy demand deniers. They fail to understand that engineering by definition involves economics and efficiency.
They have blown $7 trillion dollars on green nonsense for a 4% (debatable if even 4%) reduction in the proportion of fossil fuels that make up global energy supply.
In addition, If that $7 trillion was spent on fossil fuel extraction, we could have reduced fossil fuel prices materially and had more energy for the 3+ billion people that are burning dung to survive.
This simply doesn’t work, it’s amazing they think they can somehow politic their way around thermodynamics and physics.

re: How? Just how do so many people afford 2+ mil secondary homes in florida?
Posted by ERBlueblood on 7/1/23 at 6:15 pm
Back when Alys beach was getting started they would put the owners name and list their hometown signs on the lots. The majority of the homes being built had signs from people coming from Texas. Oil money def playing its part.
Also, big law partners (not New Orleans firms, big firms in Houston/NYC etc) and Managing Directors in Private Equity / Wall Street can pull down a few mil a year or more. They start buying that second property once they make partner or MD and feel the flow.

re: What is College Station like?

There is something really off about the people that attend/graduate the school. Not sure how to describe…it’s like a bunch of dorky dudes that prob wear tighty whiteys religiously instead of boxers. The football game where the dorky ROTC guy chased a UT cheerleader with his saber comes to mind.
Again - something is just very off.
