re: ELY high on Miles & Crowton

Great highlights! Definitely a spread offense. What High School kids take snaps under center anymore?

He is definitely on the small side. But I like the fact that he is a winner and has intangibles. I bet he keeps getting bigger too.

Looks like he is pretty open with about four schools.

What offense do they run at Plant? Hopefully, multiple.

I saw tons of "Miles recruits" playing key roles in that National Championship run and victory.

Not to mention, who coached those guys through those 3 years? Air?
Finebaum is boring and predictable. He had this same blog written last year and just saved it for when Saban actually beat LSU.

If he would have actually attended the game and tailgated before, he would have noticed that Bama fans were treated very well. I had 6 or 7 of my Bama friends at my tailgate, and they said before and after it was one of the best atmospheres they had ever seen.

Leave it to a "slum dweller" to have a negative spin on everything.

There are huge huge differences. Saban came after LSU right from the get go as soon as he took the Alabama job. He took all the credit for LSU's Sugar Bowl win. He offered our S & C coach, our OC and our OL coach more money than they make at LSU. Then he went after several of our commitments in recruiting telling them that he made LSU. He made the coonass comment trying to be funny. This is not even close to the same ball game. Saban made it personal when he went after LSU.

So if you took a new job you wouldn't go after your old accounts or try to put together your best sales force?

The question was WHY LSU fans were upset about Saban at Alabama. And this is why.

When you go to a rival school that is so close and you are as competitive as Saban is, you are going to piss your former school off. And he has. He has tried to discredit Miles from day one with recruits and media.

Anywhere other than another SEC West team. That's just wrong man...if he would've went back to the Big 10, I don't think many would have a problem with him. Going to Bama though is crap.

Saban doesn't owe LSU anything. You guys act like he was born and bred in La. He wasn't born down there, he never attended school there or anything else. It was a job for him...just like Alabama is a job for him. He turned LSU from the laughingstock of the SEC in the 90's to a true elite program, and won 3 championships in five seasons there. He also left behind the talent that would win two more titles for you. He didn't need anyone's permission to go to Alabama. He left the NFL when he realized he hated it, and the Alabama job was open. What was he supposed to do? Turn down 32 million and a chance to coach at one of the best college programs in the nation just as to not upset his former employer? Please, none of you would do that professionally...so by criticizing him, you are just being hypocritical. If you were miserable at a job, and you got offered a huge contract at a company that was the rival of one of your former employers, you wouldn't turn it down just so you wouldn't upset your old bosses, now would you? I don't hear UF fans hating on Spurrier for doing the exact same thing--going to the NFL for a couple of seasons--and then taking a job at an SEC division rival. Tubberville did the same thing switching from OM to AU. Nutt just did the same going from Arky to OM, even though he was forced out. Just business baby, but nobody cries about any of those situations like LSU fans do. Man up...move on.

He held LSU hostage every year at the end threatening to go to the NFL.

He then leaves LSU on fricking Christmas Day. Typical for Nick the Prick because it is all about HIM.

When he decides to take the Bama job, he immediately starts taking credit for the job Les Miles had done.

Then he starts going after committed LSU players telling them that he made LSU. None decommitted.

Then he goes to Moffitt, Searles, Jimbo and others offering obsurd amounts of $$ to leave LSU for Gumpville.

And you have the coonass story which was him trying to be cool to reporters.

Yes, I fricking hate his arse. He is a good coach, but he can give a frick less about Alabama or LSU. He is a mercenary with no feelings about anyone. And if I were a Gump, I would not get too comfortable with him being there long term.
If you want the recruiting board to be worth a shite, posts like this would be deleted immediately.

Could be a nice piece of tail that the recruit would like to have again. :pimp:

You say that like Bama has been great against everyone else except AU and LSU. The only real exception where we were decent was '05. You needed overtime to beat us and then AU crushed us. Everyone knows we weren't the same team that year after Pro went down. We have been terrible the last 5 years. That's what is embarassing.

You were undefeated and #2 or #3 ranked in '05. We were hearing the "Bama is Back" crap then too. LSU took all of that away. And we will take it all away in November again. You just need to accept it. 6 in a row is on the way. :spank:

I sure hope you're right but have any of you read any of this info that I was talking about? My buddy said it came from a recruiting insider for Bama.

It came from the BOL. The same "non biased" site that said that Tolliver, Edwards and C. Clement were locks to Bama last year.

Randle plays for Bradshaw who is a big time LSU supporter. He has two teammates from Bastrop, J. Downs and D. Benton, who will be Tigers as well. And Les Miles has proven to be an outstanding recruiter. I would put my money on LSU right now.

Its between Michigan and Bama, IMO

Of course. :rotflmao:

Bama beat a UK team that Louisiana State couldn't last year in their hollow 2 loss BCS season.

Are you fricking kidding me!? LSU wins the BCS National Championship, and Gump fans want to talk about legitimate NC's. This coming from the fan base that takes pride in 7 fake championships. Hey, whatever floats your boat. :rotflmao:
See that the Gumps still have that LSU envy. Win a game 17-14 and then have to come post on the defending NC's board talking shite.

Don't worry, #6 is right around the corner. :spank:

Shep will have a ton of time to develop. I imagine he will have a zone read package his first year at LSU anyway. JJ will have developed more and Lee should be a solid QB. Shep will probably be used all over the field to create mismatches with his speed. Believe me, Crowton is licking his chops on adding a dynamic player like RS.

well he is on campus today, not sure if it is coaches invite or not but if it is hopefully they have drawn up an offer

He would have been in for App. State if not for the hurricane. Definitely seems the coaches want to meet with him.

i think st. paul's lost a lot of their best players from last year's state championship team.

now they're turrible

Yep. Already have three losses.

I think the root of the issue is that Conner was picked over potentially two out-of-staters, when the perception is that he is LSU Caliber.

My only concern is if it affects overall recruiting in NELA where we know who also is well-respected.

Someone who gets it. There is more in play than just Conner. The way it went down at the camp was bad. Lots of hurt feelings. Hopefully, all of this has been resolved and LSU is not effected in NELA.

Conner is a great player. Ford is going to be a great player for LSU. If Pratt is a better player than Conner, great. I just hate seeing great Louisiana players going to rival schools.
