The only consolation for me is these folks will all end up in hell for eternity - they've contributed nothing to the human race.

The position should not be appointed, Secretary of LDWF should be an elected official. When will we ever learn. :banghead:

The political talent pool in Louisiana is rather shallow. We all held our noses to vote for Landry.
Fleming is the right choice for Senate.
Now all we need is a viable, conservative candidate for Governor in 2027, and Louisiana may have a real opportunity.

Correct, Trump should have endorsed Fleming; unfortunately, he listened to Gov. Landry.

Governor Landry is heavily influenced by the Menhaden industry who has donated over +$200K to both of his PAC's. In addition to numerous members of the Natural Resources Committee who have received political donations from the Menhaden industry to influence policy.
As mentioned, key LDWF commission members have been appointed who side with Landry's policy agenda.
These should be elected officials, not appointed.
We need a strong candidate for Governor to oppose Landry in 2027.

Keep in mind this letter was sent to the two natural resources committee chairs, the legislators responsible for taking up oversight. So they saw this overwhelming public opposition to the pogie boat buffer change and still refused to do anything.
You wonder why they chose not to do anything?!?
Bob Hensgens received the following political contributions:
- $1,000 on August 30, 2019 from Omega

Thanks for posting Wizard
No surprise here, but follow the political $$ trail.
- Westbank Fishing LLC (Omega) > Funds both of Gov. Landry's PACs - Cajun PAC II & Protect Louisiana’s Children PAC
- Westbank Fishing LLC > Direct candidate contributions to lawmakers with natural resources relevance.
- Landry's appointment of Kevin Segrara as LDWF Commissioner.
There is a clear and consistent pattern where both regulatory and legislative outcomes align with industry interests, despite broad public opposition. That raises serious questions about influence and transparency in the decision-making process.
It will be very telling if HB 855 passes or not.

This is an awesome video.
I believe the late 80's Ocean Master hulls are solid fiberglass with no wood core in the hull itself. The stringers are fully glassed-in as well.
Get a survey, or at minimum a Moisture Meter. A Tramex Skipper meter will run you about $700 - but totally worth it.
New fuel tank is a given.

Landry's brother is a pogie lobbyist....
There's a Ben Landry who is VP of Public Affairs with Ocean Fleet Services. He also was the Director of Public Affairs for Omega Protein. Not sure if this is Gov. Landry's brother or not.
Ocean Fleet Services = owns boats (U.S. fishing vessels must be 75%+ US owned)
Ocean Harvesters = runs boats
Omega Protein = buys the fish (Canadian)

If you feel the need to do business with this contractor, confront him with both quotes and ask him to explain the cost difference.

Commercial fishing vessels that are 65 feet or more in length are required to have an Automatic Identification System (AIS) installed and operational, according to U.S. regulations.
