It’s okay. When Texas walks into Columbus and blows out tOSU by 4 scores, everyone will have forgotten about your natty just like what happened when we did it to Michigan.
Your team proved a few weeks ago that they were All hat, No cattle.
Even if you manage to eek out a victory against Ohio State in August, Ohio State will just kick your arse again in the Playoffs.

He didn't want to coach there because you dumbasses are losing your entire team. If things go to shite, which they likely will, Knowles would get scapegoated by Day first, and it would ruin his name/career. All it takes are 2 bad consecutive seasons for a coordinator to get fired, even fresh off an NC. He anticipated this and abandoned ship before Day had the chance
You just confirmed what I said in the OP.
That they won because of their Roster of 5 stars, not because of Knowles.
If the D was amazing because of Knowles then there would be no reason for him to bail due to a roster change.

Which is good for Texas because you open in Columbus next year, and you sure didn't have any luck beating the current Ohio State Roster.

He was very gracious in defeat and shaking all the Mizzou players hands after that game
Mizzou's claim to fame is beating a Blue Blood's 3rd Stringers in a meaningless bowl game.
That's so cute.
Sad, but cute.

I doubt it, but so what if he does ?
Ohio State is celebrating a Natty, their 3rd in the last 25 years. while Longhorns are still trying to get over Jack Sawyer's Strip 6 through the heart of Texas !

Everyone knows that Ohio State has deep enough pockets to match/exceed any offer, especially after winning the natty.
But if you match/exceed every offer then you only invite every coach on your staff to shop his wares, even if they don't want to leave, just to get a pay raise.
And now with NIL you have players that could use the same strategy, if you are always willing to match all offers.
You have to be willing to let a guy walk to send a message to rest of your staff/players that you're willing to say "don't let the door hit you in the arse".
Just like any other business, you have to draw the line somewhere.
And let's be honest.
Ohio State's defense being amazing had a lot more to do with a bunch of 5 Stars like Sawyer, JTT, Downs etc. then it did with Knowles.
No big loss.
