Well I guess that makes me a glass half empty kind of a guy, because in a competitive league, I feel like if you have a team of equal caliber on the ropes in front of 10,000 of your own, you need to take advantage of the opportunity and close the deal. I'm not writing us off by any means, but if your not a little upset with losing, then why even play the game?

Because 0 outs; runner on second means that...

- you have three chances to tie the game and put the winning run on base.
- you don't take the bat out of the hands of a .400 hitter when a ground ball to the right side or a deep fly ball has the same effect as a bunt.
- you have a better chance to score two runs instead of one (which is important given the fact that your closer is already out of the game).

With a runner on first, a bunt is absolutely the correct call, but with a runner on second, I think it's just a wasted out.

The negative perception of Auburn right now is not limited to tigerdroppings. Whether you're willing to admit it to yourself or not, winning is much more enjoyable when people outside your circle recognize it as being legitimate.

Ask anyone who says this if they watched the Alabama/Tennessee game. Alabama held Tennessee to 3 points over 3 1/2 quarters and led 12-3 before Ingram fumbled. Then all of a sudden Tennesse walks down the field, scores a TD, gets an on-site kick, and completes a long pass to set up a potential game winning field goal.

Never underestimate the power of momentum and emotion in a game played by 20-year-olds.
