Also, if everyone thinks we "should" have won, then you should really be happy because that was a very talented baseball team we played. Best team in college baseball right now. I guess I am a glass half full guy.
Well I guess that makes me a glass half empty kind of a guy, because in a competitive league, I feel like if you have a team of equal caliber on the ropes in front of 10,000 of your own, you need to take advantage of the opportunity and close the deal. I'm not writing us off by any means, but if your not a little upset with losing, then why even play the game?

I'm with ya MG...right call or not, Jones has got to get the bunt down. I just felt that letting him swing away gave us a better chance to win, and since I screamed at the TV the first time he squared around, I have to stick to my guns or listening to my wife yell at me for cussing in front of the kids will have been all for naught.

Still don't get why people say this... 1 out runner on third means that a: WP, PB, base hit, sac fly, sac bunt, and maybe even a ground out to the right side score the tying run. Error was very much in execution not in the call
Because 0 outs; runner on second means that...
- you have three chances to tie the game and put the winning run on base.
- you don't take the bat out of the hands of a .400 hitter when a ground ball to the right side or a deep fly ball has the same effect as a bunt.
- you have a better chance to score two runs instead of one (which is important given the fact that your closer is already out of the game).
With a runner on first, a bunt is absolutely the correct call, but with a runner on second, I think it's just a wasted out.

I have an excellent idea. Since many of you are questioning the coaching decisions, then why don't you apply for the head coach's job since ya'll seem to know what should have been done.
Man, I hate this argument. I haven't seen anyone claim to be a better coach than CPM, but when he makes a bonehead decision, it's not a crime to call him on it. Hell, give me his salary and I'd be happy to have someone follow me around at work and point out every stupid mistake I make.

Dude, I could give a frick less if tigerdroppings likes "us" or not. Do you really care if these people give a shite about us or not? Do you read the posts around here? Are these these people you want to impress in your everyday life? Give me a break.
The negative perception of Auburn right now is not limited to tigerdroppings. Whether you're willing to admit it to yourself or not, winning is much more enjoyable when people outside your circle recognize it as being legitimate.

Do I wish we were 10-0?...Of course
Do I wish we were in your shoes?...a resounding NO!!!

As pathetic a state as the Tenneessee football program is in right now and they wanna talk smack like this?
Uhhh, their offense is ranked SIGNIFICANTLY higher than ours to date this year.
Has it really come to this? We're ripping on our own fans for ripping on our opponents?
We get it--the offense has major issues--but the self-loathing LSU fan bit is getting old quick. Is it not still okay to support our team and trash-talk our opponents?

Many Bama fans dismiss the PP interception along the lines of "LSU probably wouldn't have scored anyhow with JL." But this is premature.
Ask anyone who says this if they watched the Alabama/Tennessee game. Alabama held Tennessee to 3 points over 3 1/2 quarters and led 12-3 before Ingram fumbled. Then all of a sudden Tennesse walks down the field, scores a TD, gets an on-site kick, and completes a long pass to set up a potential game winning field goal.
Never underestimate the power of momentum and emotion in a game played by 20-year-olds.

Given how little officials make for the amount of criticism they've been receiving, Saban said there's no way he'd put himself through that torture.
"I'd step back and say, 'I think I'll go to the lake this weekend, you can have this,' " Saban said.
So I'm curious...What is the exact amount they would have to make to ensure that they prefer doing their job correctly over spending the weekend at the lake?...Maybe the SEC could pay them this amount.

Cover??? I'd settle for two or three pages inside the mag...it's usually just a picture in the "Leading Off" section with two or three line caption.

removing the human element from the calling of balls and strikes would destroy part of what makes baseball great. an umpire's emotions, his feel for the pace and character of a particular game influence his strike zone, like it or not. the image of a batter with the catcher and ump behind the plate is iconic. its American. I think it would be pretty ridiculous to change that and I doubt few would disagree. especially those of us that have actually played baseball.

He took the time to put the ball in his back pocket, throw his mask, and then loaded up and bull-dozed poor Coleman. I watched it about 5 times.

I thought the same thing. Not sure of his final stats, but the 2-out 3-run jack against Arkie, the go-ahead RBI in both wins over Texas, and his defense were all crucial.
Oh well, I'm sure he won't lose sleep over it.
