I know plenty of people with good jobs who don't care about putting there and they're correctly. Try again with that one especially on a message board, come on.
:banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
I promise you that in a job that requires communicating in writing with a boss, customer, or colleague, SOMEONE cares about their grammar. if it's not them, then they might be looking for other employment soon. And I said "try to GET a good job..." Meaning, try turning in a resume written like that and see what happens. It will be thrown away promptly.
Furthermore, I was making the case that when someone does that with me, they lose all credibility. I don't care if it's a message board or not. With me..., that kind of stuff lets me know I'm dealing with a moron.

Besides..., arguing on the internet is like being in the Special Olympics. Even if you win..., you're still retarded.

(I know I'm gonna catch hell for that one.)

Yes, it's a message board and you are making an argument. However, when someone argues with me showing their ignorance and lack of education, they lose all credibility when they can't even use basic grammar. Sorry, but that's the way it is and that's the way the world works. (Try to get a good job with those writing skills)

You continue to be bias toward corps styles bands, but you know what it's okay. I have the best of both worlds and I appreciate and enjoy them. You cant seem to do that.

Bullsh** Of course we all have a bias. However, I do happen to like all types of music and I appreciate talent when I see/hear it. I also can appreciate their time and devotion to what they do because I know what it takes. Hats off to them for that. I gave them props. You just didn't pay attention.

The Human Jukebox has preformed at multiple super bowls, parades, BOTB's and other schools and organizations invite them to do so, because of how good they are. You don't get nominated for a grammy or be ranked #1 college band in the nation by USA Today , #2 by the NCAA because you sound like crap. Those are things the GBFTL will never do. ..........but I'm the idiot.

Yes, you're the idiot (PRE-formed? Really??) because you have no idea the number of awards, parades, countries, titles, or any other recognition that TGBFTL has gotten yet you claim to say that they will never do those things.

*In the fall of 1997, the band directors of the Southeastern Conference unanimously voted the LSU Tiger Marching Band the best marching band in the SEC
*The band was awarded the Sudler Trophy in 2002, a one-time award conferred upon the nation's best college marching bands.
*On Saturday, October 11, 2008, ESPN announced that the Tiger Band won first place in a competition amongst university bands from Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, Texas, and USC. Each band played a version of John Williams's Indiana Jones theme, and ESPN posted the videos online for fans to vote.
*In 2012, the LSU Tiger Band was named as one of the "Top Ten College Marching Bands in the United States" by the Huffington Post.
*The Tiger Band performed internationally in 2014 when all 325 members traveled to Dublin, Ireland to perform in the St. Patrick's Day Parade.

There are more, but I'll let the above suffice.

As for Grammy nominations..., yes I've heard some seriously untalented people nominated for Grammy's (Kanye??) and I've never heard of SU getting a nomination anyway.

As for USA Today ranking them #1. Really?? Here are USA Today's Top Ten College Bands and SU didn't even make it to the honorable mentions. (Neither did TGBFTL but I didn't make that claim.)

Good day sir..., I'm out.

What a completely ignorant statement! I can recognize great playing. For example, I have no idea what Phantom Regiment is playing in this clip, but I know it's fantastic!!

Gosh that video is horrible!!

Even watching it you can see that they don't care about anything but LOUD because they are huffing and heaving to try and blow more air. I really avoid calling stuff crap because I do appreciate all types of music but wow..., that's crap. I can see that they don't care about musicianship by simply watching their body language. And by the way, you have NO way of comparing either bands "book" because you simply don't know. How would you know how big a corps style bands "book" is??? When did I bring that into question?

Again, the bottom line here is that I'm not going to change your mind and you won't change mine. (Besides, the horrible typing and grammar are just a complete reminder to me not to argue with idiots.)

then your just mistaking.

You're gonna like what you like and that's ok. I'm really just about cheering for my Tigers and having a blast so again..., and :geauxtigers:

In show style bands. Songs like break bread are used as warm up songs

:snoozer:

Break Bread sure can be a warm up and is often used as such. However, my point was that even a warm up song can sound MUCH better than that "performance" you posted. (By the way, TGBFTL plays it as the last song of the night after the game which means they've been playing all day so they still have that control when they're tired.)

The new video you posted, while better than the first, still shows a band that's not as together as they need to be. The horns can't get tight and they don't sound as one. (TERRIBLE at 0:12!!) I even think one of the directors turned around to look because it was so bad. The bottom line is that LSU's band is simply a much higher caliber. And as far as style of playing and what people like, that's all subjective. Most don't want to see SU's band do a more subdued corps style show. They want loud and dancing so that's what they get. That's their style and that's fine. (Albeit we're not talking about that here.) LSU's band is a more corps style with emphasis on musicianship in addition to marching.
TGBFTL horns shown HERE are incredibly together and they sound as one.

again..., and :geauxtigers:

Now I know, you have no clue what your talking about so please. Show me any video of LSU sounding better than this.

:rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

Dude, you really don't know what YOU'RE talking about. (and use some proper grammar by the way)

From a former member of TGBFTL, an LSU School of Music Grad, and a lifelong musician, I know good music and that blowing as hard as you can into a horn, so loud that it's out of tune (badly) is NOT good music.

Here's some great musicianship from TGBFTL and it's not even their best. It's controlled, beautiful, shows real dynamics (do you know what that means?) and it completely blows your video of SU away!

Let Us Break Bread

In any case, just know what you're (not your) talking about before you talk crap about the band. I'm not trying to dis SU's band. I can appreciate the hard work that ANY college band puts in. But I also know quality when I hear it and LSU ranks up there among the best.

I think Miles is a good guy but he doesn't seem to care about his job or excellence like Saban does

If you equate "excellence" only with wins then you're sadly mistaken. Please don't misunderstand me. I like winning just as much as anyone else. But if the sole standard of "excellence" is wins then you don't know what you're talking about.

Miles exudes excellence in his demeanor, he brings it out in his players, he shows it in his human interactions with others and he creates leaders because of his caring attitude. A true leader brings up other leaders. He doesn't scream, yell, and browbeat them into submission. If you've done any reading, you'll understand that players WANT to play for Miles because of his excellence. Players would COME BACK to play for Miles for the same reason. Make no mistake, he knows football better than probably anyone on the rant. But he has and brings out excellence in himself and others.

I know that this may not be understood by all but I'd rather have Les over Nick any day. I'm positive that Les is one of the guys that's always improving himself. I think it's funny that the one's who think they don't need self-development are the ones that need it the most.

In any case, to you and :geauxtigers:

You should text him the rest of the farks, that way it doesn't hurt his business. LOL

None of it "hurts his business". He's a freakin ballroom dance instructor who doesn't even teach enough to make it full-time. He's just trying to be dramatic.
I'm really done with him. I mean, there's just no need in wasting energy on someone like that. I will say that I was laughing all night last night as TCU lost to TX Tech though. Just knowing that he was upset.
quote:

Did you send him any of the farks? If so, how did he respond?

The first picture I posted was the one in the diaper, and then after he complained the first time I posted the one of him in LSU garb. I didn't even post the stuff that was really bad!

Him: "U can brag and ill admit your team was the better team but no hell no not a inappropriate unclassy photo.
If u don't take it down I will take u down in person when I see u.
I posted on your timeline that you were right and the better stronger team that's enough
I have clients I'm friends with that hurts my business"

And then he sends me all sorts of texts with threats to me and calling me a punk and how he's gonna kick my arse.

Unfriended and blocked me on facebook (like I care at all except I can't tag him in more farked pictures, lol)

But THEN he wants to congratulate me via text on a Saints win and then try and rile me up with a text about LM and the OSU crap.

Just a big douche and I'm completely done even talking with him at all. I like friendly rivalries and sportsmanship. He's neither.

Thanks you guys!!
