You have civilians sitting at home doing nothing that will ultimately get paid. Government services are diminished with no benefit to actual consumers. Excepted civilians like government medical workers for the DOW are now 1 month without pay while still working.

This does nothing to cut or lessen the size of government, this does nothing to cut spending. It's ultimately just a huge waste
