Miles bashing is one thing, but drooling over $aban on this board is disgusting. Give it up people.

both were horrible college QBs at worst and very limited college QBs at their best
Couldn't agree more. The original post says it all. And we were 25-3 during some of the worst QB play ever at LSU. There are many good years to come with Mett and Kiel.

Good point. Now, can he let Stud and Kragthorpe do their jobs with serious talent in the house?
He threw the ball with Flynn. He'll go back to a more balanced gameplan next year. Miles may not be Vince Lombardi but he wants to win and he'll throw the ball if has a decent QB.
It may take some time to hand control over completely to the OC. I think he's still scarred from 2008. Hopefully Mett and Kiel are enough to get him there.

Another question is whether Miles can learn from this enormous mistake. He hired Chavis and fixed the defense in a big way. What is he prepared to do now?
Hired Kragthorpe, signed Mett and Kiel.

EZE, couldn't agree more. The NC was brutal but LSU is 25-3 the past two seasons. The hate is going to far. I'll take Miles and 25-3 over some of his predecessors like Archer or Hallman any day. I don't ever recall any media outlets predicting LSU as a preseason #1 before the current predictions for next season. Geaux Tigers.

I agree the NC was an embarassment, but if your not old enough to remember Curley Hallman, you need to look at the early 90's. LSU was on par with this years Ole Miss team or Kentucky team. The vast majority of LA 4 and 5 star recruits were being plucked by Nebraska, Florida St, and Tennessee. Miles biggest feck up was a few years ago when he didn't have a better back up plan for Perilloux. That and Crowton's lack of QB development is what has screwed us. Miles starting correcting that with Mett and now Kiel. He should of put in Lee, but apparently Lee burned that bridge with an academic feck up. We'll be preseason top three and the program is stronger than it has ever been in the past. If you can't handle it then go root for the gumps. Otherwise, let it go and move on. Geaux Tigers

Keep doing what they are doing. LA first with focus then on TX, FL, MS, and a few national recruits like Kiel.

Louisiana has more players per capita in the NFL than any other state, according to a report by USA Football, the sport's national governing body on youth and amateur levels that puts out an annual study on the subject. According to the study, there is one NFL player for every 55,862 people in Louisiana.
Louisiana has 80 players in the NFL overall, which ties with Georgia for fifth in terms of total numbers. California (205) has the most natives in the NFL, followed by Texas (179), Florida (176) and Ohio (90).

Pat, I'm mocking you with my 15 post history. Will you break out the imfamous Jamie Howard 5-int hat tonight and watch LC's decision through the hat holes? If you didn't burn it after that day on the Plains that is?
re: Fun Fact: Clemson allowed more TD's tonight

In the on the field interview before the game, Dabo Sweeny was asked what people will remember about Clemson's play on the field. Dabo said people will walk away talking about how well Clemson's defense played. I guess he was right in some regard ... people are definately talking about it.

You gotta admitt, it's pretty bad when they have the real helmet on the CFB Live set and then they cut to commercials with some made up crap. Good 'ole espn.
re: What's up w/ Jeremy Hill?
Posted by HoosierTiger on 1/4/12 at 8:03 pm
Ponamsky has always been very high on him. He was on AFR tonight and said he's "next level talent" and a guy that the staff would make room for. Also compared him to Hilliard in that he's a little more of the bigger back type and fits the mold Miles and the O-Staff is looking for.
re: Thoughts on the late recruiting push???
Posted by HoosierTiger on 1/4/12 at 7:43 pm
Claiborne, Mathieu, and Logan were 3 stars ... to name a few. Gotta trust that the staff is seeing potential in these kids that others don't.

I don't believe this type of redshirt is decided by NCAA until after the season. Supposidly, his scenario is typically granted an extra year though. Seems like he'd go that route.
