No one is safe. This dude had zero reason to leave, he literally redshirted this year lmao. For all we know Harold Perkins could easily enter it too. No one is safe. That 5 star CB we just got in the portal? Could easily re-enter in two days and be gone. Get used to it.

Also, it's actually insane the downfall that Daniels returning has caused. Utterly insane
When the 12 days of Christmas are over on Jan. 5th obviously.
Trainers were on the field within 90 seconds of the tackle giving Hamlin CPR. If this was delayed even another minute or two he could be brain dead. Turns out they revived his heart beat on the field, loaded him into an ambulance immediately, and he was at UC medical center in under 10 minutes with a police escort.

That was honestly the most quick, efficient, and its looking like now successful logistical outcome the NFL could have hoped for. Other leagues should look to this as an example of what to do.

The NFL officially announced the cancellation of the game roughly 50 minutes after the injury - which is, by the way, not only incredibly unprecedented for them to do but also very quick given the circumstances, but also the right thing to do. They likely made the decision to do this after initially pausing the game when teams were sent to the locker rooms. Sorry the NFL didn't reach their typewriters fast enough to draft a postponement letter to the media, they had more important things to worry about, like making sure their player who could die makes it to the hospital as quickly and as safely as possible. People on twitter are just trying to one up each other on who can be the most outraged at the NFL. The funny part is the 90% of the blue checkmarks outraged at the NFL are atheists who won't even pray for the guy lmao. The only thing they worship is social media attention and making sure everyone knows how nice of a person they are. They are always looking for someone to blame. It's looking like this was some freak accident that is no one's fault. Christ, have some humility and composure. Good Lord.

Edit: The '5 minutes to warm up' thing is also a confirmed lie. The NFL never forced players to warm up. There is protocol to allow players 5 minutes to warm up if a game is delayed due to weather or injury for more than 20 minutes. But the NFL nixed that very quickly.
2003 - Win Natty
2007 - Win Natty
2011 - Went to Natty
2015 - went 9-3 which is basically a miracle if Les Miles is your coach
2019 - Win Natty (best team of all time)
2023 - ????
Is this for a single season? This is a running start throughout a players career so this doesn’t really make sense.

this narrative of the WR room hating Daniels has to stop

This is not the narrative. But they have to make decisions best for themselves. Hard to improve draft stock when your QB does not trust you. Writing was on the wall after UGA when they were sucking off Nuss

It’s so obvious now that both of these decisions were clearly entirely dependent on Daniels’ decision. There is literally no hiding it. He was 100% in shambles when Daniels announced he was staying - not even a week later he changed his mind and decided to go pro (something I’ve genuinely never seen before in this time frame). Thank you in advance.
He wouldn’t pass up a potential big yardage game and a ton of targets (because Nuss gives no craps about who’s actually open) if Nuss was playing.

Lazy response. Coaches never think a backup who has never played real snaps is the best option. The coaches have to be convinced and they don’t want to make risky decisions, unfortunately.
I agree. But it literally does not matter. Unless he completely lays an egg in the Spring, it would be require so much for coaches to just outright bench him.
It is often not a clean slate or a level playing field, especially when an incumbent starter is returning. I’m pretty sure any prior starting QB who’s had at the very least a slightly above average year has never lost his job the next spring. There’s simply not enough opportunities for Nuss or Howard to prove themselves enough to force coaches to bench Daniels. There will always be the “he has experience” and “we got to the SEC championship with him” and it’s the “safer option”.

I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with this, but Howard could come out this spring playing like prime Peyton and there all the drills and practice scrimmages in the world wouldn’t make it enough for coaches to make such a massive change. That only comes as a result of real playing time via an injury or some sort.

I say this because we have to stop being disingenuous and stop kidding ourselves that Jayden isn’t starting next Fall barring some major injury. There will be no real QB battle - that’s just not how it works.
It’s like One of our starters will get benched for like a quarter when they mess up and then it’s automatically assumed he’s immediately transferring to TCU when the season ends lmao. Get a grip people.

Oh, it looks like there might be a competition at this position? No, let’s not even compete, let’s just transfer to TCU where apparently no competition exists somehow. Okay.

Oh we recruited more than one four-star at the same exact position? No worries, one of them can just transfer to TCU!
Let me guess, TCU wants him?
Nuss wouldn’t be an auto-start at TCU. Their backup is decent and knows the playbook quite well. Has gotten a lot of playing time this year
Howard just redshirted. He’s not leaving lol. But it is annoying that we’ll have to wait another year for him
Or is it an auto-start for Daniels no matter what?

Edit: yes, technically, we are all “Daniels supporters” because we are all LSU fans. I’m referring to ranters that are all-in on Daniels no matter what
