Agree on the Texas Tech game. If we can improve on the offensive boards, play good perimeter defense and keep pace on offensive possessions, it should be a good game. Those last 4-6 min will say a lot.

Could not agree more.

He could very well go back to back this year. Obviously, time will tell as the season unfolds. But if the pitching continues to get stronger throughout the season as it has, it’s a real possibility. If he does that, then he should get whatever the hell he asks for.

I’m not sure what the number is, but you might be right. Outside of the box, he wants other things as well. Updated pitching lab, larger indoor field, etc…
This is my biggest concern. Everyone is so caught up with the FB coach hire, as they should be. Losing SW definitely concerns me for giving JJ what he wants to improve the program in terms of facilities.
I think JJ is good where he is with LSU, but the more he wins the more he will want to continue to improve things year after year.
To answer op’s question in the title, he could get to 4 or 5 realistically. Depends on how long he stays, which is why the fundraising aspect of the AD job is so instrumental.

Why the hell would an interim be in charge of leading the search. WTF??!!
Thanks for sharing. Love this! He brings up some fantastic ideas and talking points. Love big Whit!

I get it, but keep that shite internal. Never air dirty laundry to the public. Especially not involving a multi-million dollar business while you are trying to recruit the best talent.

Sorry but calling out the AD in public like that is not a good look. It will rub some candidates the wrong way.
I understand money talks, but still. Not great.

re: Frank makes $1 million a year as RB coach and we are abysmal running the ball…yet

This is a bit of a stretch and an easy blame. There are so many nuances to the run game, it’s not as easy as blaming the rb coach. Offensive line, cadence, sequence of places, manipulation through motions, line splits, formations, etc….
Also, a rb coach is a big part of it. Not saying Frank is not. But from what a few talking heads are saying about Alex Atkins being more involved in the run game the last few weeks, there has been a significant improvement. We all saw Harlem Berry get almost 6 yds a carry on Sat in the first half. Then the run game dissappeared. We started to show improvement against Vandy, which is a top 25 run defense.
We have the horses to run the ball at a high level, we suck at executing it from the top down.
The run game is a mindset. We just have not made a commitment to it.

I posted last week that I thought Nia’s should play and either get him on a pitch count or just the first half. I’m glad he played because he looked healthy. The ball was coming out of his hand differently last night. His placement was outstanding and showed a lot more velocity.

I think you get him on a pitch count. Just to keep him in rhythm. 20 attempts max. Either pull him at half time or pull him once he gets to 20 attempts, whichever comes first.
Agreed MVB needs to get some reps. If anything happens to Nuss, God forbid, MVB needs game time reps.

Fingers crossed. We need him considering how much we are losing after this season.
