re: Another example of the problem with policing in America

The police should produce
1. An audio record and call log of when the chief called in the motorcycle speeding and driving recklessly
2. An audio record and call log of subsequent communication when he was tracking down the motorcycle
3. Video footage from his vehicle
4. Their written policy and procedure for off duty stops.

I have a good friend who works for the FBI and he’s stated there is a disproportionate number of psychopaths at the agency because they can lie their way through the interviews and polygraph tests.
Clearly they both believe the story they’re telling. The dad lied right to the camera more than once.

re: Student loan delinquencies surge back after 5-year pause

Clearly some people never intended to repay and it would be good to see data on graduates, degrees, loan amounts and the university. I assume most of the defaults are from someone attending 1 year and dropping out.
To correct the cost issue, here's what i would do
1. 3 year program for all undergraduate degrees (25% cost reduction). You should only study material that is pertinent to your degree. Basic knowledge (history, math english, etc) should have been learned in high school.
2, Loan values can't exceed the average 5 year salary for the degree of study.
3, The learning institution is the obligor for 25% of the loan value.
4, End government loan backing. It removed the lending risk. Student loans should be evaluated like any other personal loan. Can you repay?
Item 3 would correct everything.

re: Do kids need a computer for college?

Depends on the area of study. My son is studying accounting and needed a laptop to run the software the school requires. My daughter graduated with a degree in Applied Psychology and was fine with an ipad and keyboard however she did say some of the data analysis was tough to do.
Each department should have it's own requirements.

I know 6 new graduates. 5 have jobs and 1 does not.

1 - Auburn. Finance degree and has a job at Morgan Stanley
1 - Bama. EE working for Lockheed Martin
1 Ole Miss - Accounting and is working for PWC.
FWIW - They all interned.

Graduated Tulane 1st in class with a double major in Mass Communications and Marketing. Needs to make 100k plus and wants to live in NYC.
The data behind the graph is what matters.

From my freshman year at LSU.To the tune of You Shook Me All Night Long.
She was a fat machine
She kept the hallways clean
She was the best damn janitor, I ever seen
She had big ole thighs, working side to side.
Grabbed her mop and cleaned up inside.
That’s as far as we got with the lyrics.
