Reminds me of Khraungbin with more of an indie folk slant. Excellent for late nights or early morning listening. ...

re: How is the WWE associated with the Big XII???

The extent that some grown ups are, or pretend to be, offended by pro wrestling in 2023 never ceases to amaze.
WWE is a $9B company with largely family oriented content these days and licensed products everywhere you turn pretty much globally. Anyone who wants to make money would be crazy not to...

No time to read the whole thread, so this may have already been said, but COVID forced stoppages on many team activities through schools and recreation leagues. I feel like the jump in individual sport participation, such as in golf and tennis, could be result of that. Plus, the other things menti...

Empire of the Summer Moon is the best read out there on the Native American culture and its demise in the 1800s, focusing on the Comanches and the life of Quanah Parker and his mother who was an assimilated Comanche captive. The author has been on JRE and that’s also a great listen. Excellent compan...

Flying Heart or Flying Tiger are both good brewpubs that offer brick-oven pizzas and other items. Cool places, but check on hours for Flying Tiger.
I would recommend those places or Enoch’s for lunch after the zoo. The zoo is fine and in pretty good shape right now, honestly. If that’s your thin...

As a NELA guy, Charlie, his contemporaries, and their music always makes me think about Rabbs and hanging out in Ruston. The closest thing we had to a Texas college town I guess.
RIP Charlie Robison. Lot of great memories there....

To get Trump elected.
The media has to know they’ve got nothing if Trump goes away. He’s obviously a ratings goldmine (as much as there can be these days) or they’d just ignore him. That mugshot should hang from the Capitol when he’s inaugurated again. ...

re: Which genre of music you can’t stand?
Posted by lpgreat1 on 7/12/23 at 3:31 pm
Hard to say relative to entire genre, as there's usually something within any genre that is decent to good.
Right now though, most rap is unlistenable. Especially if it's popular. You have to dig for good rap and hip-hop it seems in the last 5-6 years or so.
Also, I think I've outgrown count...
The 1975 at Smoothie King Center - 10.12.23

Got tickets for me and the wife. I think these guys are one of the better and more original acts going right now (compared to most pop/rock/alt). Anyone seen them? What’s the vibe here on the band?...
re: Is this season already a success for you, or is more needed?
Posted by lpgreat1 on 6/21/23 at 11:58 am
It has absolutely been a success. You were a top 5 team all year and you’re in the final 4. Not a favorite necessarily to win it all over the last month or more, but now there’s a chance. Great achievement. But you’d sure like for Crews and Skenes and the bunch leaving to get a championship. ...
Tarantino-esque Movies

Maybe it’s my early (for me) 90s alt rock fandom and this being one of the first CDs I bought talking, but I’ve always had a soft spot for this one. I know it’s way off the Peppers style, but I love it....
