re: 30A and Public Beach Access

Posted by Pauvetibete on 5/3/25 at 7:20 pm
Who said I was the one with the problem? We've had the beach to ourselves the last 3 days. Just lots of people complaining who weren't familiar with the rules at dinner/lunch.

Couldn't imagine spending 2-5k and not being able to enjoy the beach.
There's about 5 places with openings.

Usually 14x50.

Any individual or condo owner owns to the water line. The only access points for those who aren't renting or own on the coast with direct beach access much use the Public Beach Access points. These are usually limited to 10 cars or less, and only around 50 yards in width. Flanked on both sides of these are typically a-hole owners or condos who run off anyone who encroaches on their "property". Most of the condos are issuing wristbands and have hired security to check and kick people out.

It was to the point a few years ago that if you wanted to cross property lines, you had to physically only use the sand that was covered with water. They've eased it to 20 feet from the surf, but you must be moving to another area. No sitting etc.
$275 Thibodaux/Houma. It's insanity.

30A and Public Beach Access

Every OT ballers favorite beach vacation destination has officially died. While crowds this weekend are well above normal due to Atlanta having a late Spring break, the crowds on the beachs are almost completely bare. Void of any vacationers, Bluetooth speakers, or 65 qt Yeti ice chests.

I've got to admit, if DeSantis doesn't sign the new bill that just passed Florida's house, I honestly see tourism in Florida dying off quickly for the beach communities. There have been more people eating and drinking at the restaurants with waits well over 2 hours. It took us 45 mins to get from Seaside to Grayton for lunch since no one is on the beach. Incredible that Florida has let this public access get this bad.

Wonder if this eventually comes up for Louisiana's private land/water disputes.

Just trying to save someone else from expirecing the abomination I suffered through.

That and I'm stuck with 30 mins to kill before my customer shows up.

Huey Magoos Chicken Tenders

Had to head to Mississippi today to meet with a customer and the only place for a quick bite was this new chicken place, Huey Magoos.

I know this place loves to rag on Rasing Cane's, but somehow this place is worse.

How in the world do you make Rasing Cane's worse? Well, small AF chicken strips with the worst tasting dipping sauce ever. Their 3 piece strips were equal to 4 McDonalds nuggets. The sauce was the worst attempt at recreating RC sauce I've ever seen. Lunch ruined.
Yall are insane.

Nuss had a 54% Completion agaisnt SEC play. He only completed 33% of passes more than 5 yards. Yall are putting so much pressure on this kid to be something he's not. He struggled last year WITH our OL that just had 4 guys drafted. What do yall think he's going to look like this year with 4 brand new guys who've never played together and with 2 new WRs he's never played with.

Let Nuss be Nuss. If he has the 2nd Year LSU growth that Burrow and Jayden had then sure. But yall have to realize that's incredibly rare.

Majority of our fans repeat what they read in here, and never rewatch games or understand film breakdown.

Or, did we just not run the ball enough?

Just was a post on here about rushing attempts. LSU had almost 200 less rushing attempts than the top rushing teams. LSU averaged 4.1 yards a carry. Texas had 4.4. Think 200 more carries would have helped our average out? I do.

All 4 OL who entered NFL draft

Posted by Pauvetibete on 4/28/25 at 6:34 am
Were officially drafted. The very first time that 4 OL from the same draft class were all drafted.

I've said if for months now that this was the best OL in LSU history and the draft would prove it, and now it has.

I'm not being the Debby downer you all think, but I'm highly suggesting you guys temper expectations for next years OL. It will be incredibly hard to meet the same expectations that this OL just met before the injuries.

That goes even more for Nuss. Stop putting the pressures of Heisman out there for him, because those expectations aren't reality with the combination of new OL and WRs.
Yall really believe the 6'7" Penning slides to guard, when one of his biggest problems is how straight he stands up?

I need to nuke my yard

Built a rock firepit in the backyard 7 years ago. Killed the grass first, laid down the "grass resistant" matt, then placed my rocks. Apparently, the matting was a waste of time and money because I've spent more time weeding than I've been able to enjoy.

What do yall suggest to just go scorched earth on this thing and get a few weeks between sprays?

Trading our entire draft plus a few from the next year for Rickey Williams is pretty high up there not in Saints bad drafts, but in NFL bad drafts.

While I'm happy for them, how the hell can a restaurant open up less than 4 hours after having 2 feet of flood water in it?

They've got great food, but terrible business sense. That place floods once a year it seems. I would have moved after the 2nd time, but not these guys. Sweep out the water, wipe down the walls, change out the electrical and back to work. Insane. I know for Festival they make a killing with those bread bowls, but no way they make enough to offset the repairs.
Scroll through my posting history big dog. I was able Jadyen fan because he didn't turn the ball over and played with an AWFUL OL.

Nuss has played with the BEST OL in LSU history. 3 players can realistically be drafted and a 4th will possible end up as a UFA. No other LSU team can say that.

Quit trying to turn him into what he's not and you'll get a lot more enjoyment out of the games instead of praying he connects on a deep pass.
And this is the problem right here with our fans.

Yall took a few good plays and OVERLOOK EVERY THING ELSE.

Wanna know why Nuss had to make those 2 big throws during the Ole Miss game?

Because he started off the game 1-9, 6 of those throws over 25 yards.

Nuss was 12-39 on balls over 25 yards up pass the A&M game. Thats 30%, which was his completion percentage going into the 4th agaisnt Ole Miss BTW.

I like Nuss. He's a good kid. But yall putting lofty expectations on a kid who just isn't what you all expect.

Go back and watch A&M game. He was lights out first half. What happened in the 2nd half when they took the lead and we needed Garret to press and put his team on his back? 3 really bad INTs and a few REALLY bad throws.
Some of us told yall that Nuss wasn't going to be amazing this year. Yall say what yall want, but the numbers don't lie, our OL was damn good and replacing 4 guys was going to be difficult no matter the transfers.

Also told yall that WR separation wasn't our problem last year, but yall pointed to the last 2 games and swore Hilton was the difference maker.

Nuss is a short/medium accuracy thrower with deep strength but no touch. Which is perfectly fine and Brees threw for 5k yards with that ability.

But we ain't taking the top off of defenses unless Nuss gets better in a hurry.
