This argument is made every year by schools which don't recruit as well as the powerhouses. I used to use it to justify Ole Miss' performance but SEVERAL studies have shown that there is a correlation with teams who have highly ranked classes and those who compete for BCS titles. If you look at the past several teams who have been in the BCSNCG, you'll see lots of teams who have put together consistenly highly ranked classes. Auburn, Oregon, Texas, Alabama, LSU, Florida, Ohio State, Oklahoma... they ALWAYS have highly ranked classes. This is NOT a coincidence.

Agreed, but you putting Ole Miss and MSU in the same stratosphere as the likes of OSU, LSU, Alabama is fricking insane. Those guys get TONS of 5* guys. Ole Miss and MSU cream themselves when this happens. Ole Miss and MSU are mostly comprised of 2 and 3 star guys. IMO the drop off isn't nearly as bad from 4* to 3* players as it is from 5* to 4*.

LOL you're a dumb SOB. I don't know how you equate a picture of Mark Mangini into me being fat. I guess this is due to you running out of arguments and reaching for shite to jab at.

Also if i need to spell it out for you retard, you stated that by Ole Miss "recrootin" better than MSU that you would in turn field a superior team. I argued that "recrootin" rankings don't mean shite and that you could look at a NFL roster and find TONS of instances where players that went to smaller schools (READ NOT HIGHLY RECRUITED) became big time NFL player (READ HIGHLY TALENTED). RESULT = RECRUITING RANKINGS ARE FOR NERDS JERKING OFF TO 18 YEAR OLD BOYS.

That still doesn't disprove recruiting rankings. You don't know what the meaning of "proof" is.

Yea dumb frick because 4 and 5 star recruits go play at Hofstra

Small Div 1 schools = lower recruiting rankings

You act as if you've stumbled onto some great unforeseen axiom of recruiting. Everybody wants on-field production over 'crootin stars. But if a guy's a damn solid high school player, he's more likely to be the same at the next level. The same goes for college players up to the NFL. This shite isn't rocket science.

It's not a fricking lucky-arse coincidence that a lot of NFL studs were four or five star guys coming out of high school. Yes, there are always busts and "diamonds in the rough," but there are also plenty of guys who do just as you'd expect them too. It's no wonder why Tim Tebow and Cam Newton were 5* guys.

You are a dipshit lol. I can go down any NFL roster and find TONS of guys who didn't go to bigtime Div 1 schools.

But we are supposed to care about your bullshite projections of how your recruiting classes will translate to on field production?

i love how the bears keep harping on "recrootin". Personally i could give two shits because half of these little bastards aren't going to pan out to what they are expected. I'll take on field production any day of the week.

So there are apparently conflicting reports. One is a newspaper article written by a "neutral" third party in an effort to generate interest in the MS State vs. Florida game two seasons ago... The other is Urban Meyer himself.

Or you could say that Urban Meyer (in typical CUM fashion) was "butt hurt" due to mullen leaving for a gig at another SEC school. He is probably jealous that someone else was getting QT with his man crush.

alot of people do it. I do it because it helps keep your wrist straight when benching and helps with the bar path, but i know it comes with a risk. If the strength coach instructed him to do this then he may have put some liability on himself.
sounds like he was using a false grip (thumbs not wrapped around the bar). The bar can jump out of your hand if you are not careful. Poor decision on his part

This should be a good fit after losing McPhee. I trust Mullen's juco eye over Nutts with the Dorsey debacle. Of course he wasn't the only one who thought he was good, five star fat bitch. I agree with you on the DC Dlineman that you aren't in desperate need for any right now especially after picking up PJ so not a bad pick up at all. The only reason you're getting grief is because you're actin like little girls and making threads like MSU gets ANOTHER 4 star...and bragging about Mullens recruiting ability when he signs a kid from tupelo when the only other competition, exclude possibly Arky, doesn't really have enough room

I agree with this and i am a STATE fan. Ya'll need to stop running your mouth because the program has a long way to go before we can walk around talking shite.

Even a dumb shite like you could easily see that Ole Miss didn't have much in the way of junior and senior talent this past year.

I was trying to tell you dumbasses this back in August when y'all was saying that Gandy was a legit playmaker and how good your defense was going to be.All the rebs thought y'all would be 5-0 to start the season so on and so forth.Which lets me know there is not a reb fan on this rant that knows anything about football.Little tip for this yr.TEAMS with a QB with no SEC game experience and who lose their top 4 DL and has a weak secondary will not have a very good season.BYU returns most of their players and will prolly win that game.It doesn't matter if y'all play at home b/c your stadium atmosphere sucks arse.Just like the J-VILLE game, everybody in the Grove gettin drunk meanwhile your team is letting a D2 team roll up 50 pts on you AT HOME!!!

Game, set, match

yea but you forget that the guy was out of football for a few seasons and does a better job of taking care of his body than most players in the nfl. The dude averaged almost 4.5 ypc last season. Not too damn shabby for a old man

yea but couldn't they just ask him to step down and to take on another role in the program. I know he has done a lot for the basketball program, but the dude is burned out and has always had a problem keeping kids from transferring. My god if i see them start launching 3 pointers non stop again i am going to throw my tv out the fricking window.
