Typically through the fall you would be correct, but this is the Tutko vs Chief/Purple vs Gold world series scrimmages. They do a draft and they are the same teams throughout the weekend for these scrimmages.

Did they ever put out who is on each team?
Dude has tree trunks for legs. LH Bear.

A rotation of Evans, Moore, Schmidt and possibly Noot looks promising this spring.

Cooper Williams will be in the mix as a starter this spring for sure. Jay mentioned Cooper Moore having the best fall out of the pitchers but I would make the argument that it has been Cooper Williams. Really like what he can become. Possibly follow in the footsteps of recent LSU leftys in Griffin Herring and Kade Anderson. (Don't misunderstand me for saying he WILL be as good or better, just saying he can be a big contributor with the potential to get to that level)

I would assume you are correct. He is not on this team. I don't think he was granted any extra eligibility.

I can see that. Jay has said before fall even started that he is probably the most ready hitter of the freshmen coming out of high school.

As of now I think the competition for DH is between Braun and Harden when just looking at the fall. Curious to see come spring if Serna or Pearson can try to work their way into that role.

I think 2B and 3B will have Simpson, Caraway, Reaves, and Dardar but as of now I have Braun and Harden ahead of any of them for DH.

Last season, he was a redshir,t so I think he can't have a lesser role.

Exactly my point. He can still be the hype man and good locker room guy.

He will have to drastically improve to have any role outside of what he was last season. He has over 50% K rate and the worst OBP of the team in fall. 19K in 37 PA as of the stats from scrimmages I have now.

It will be crucial for Serna to be able to contribute to help keep Arrambide fresh. If Arrambide continues to progress his bat will not be able to come out the lineup on weekends. Could play 1B or DH on the days he is not behind the plate. Offseason workouts/conditioning and during season recovery will be huge to keep Arrambide productive at the plate.

As of now I think Serna will get the reps that Arrambide had last year and Arrambide will have the reps Hernandez had. Arrambide has had a huge fall which is great to see. He is the leader in avg, OBP, and has the most extra base hits with 8, 2 of them being homers. Leads the team in RBI this fall as well. Most impressive thing for him is he has the best K% on the team with only 5K in 43 PA.

Daniel Harden is one to watch as well to push for ABs. Possible DH candidate. I like what he has done this fall so far.

Based on the stats I have of the fall (excluding yesterday at SE) the pitching staff has 196/105 K/BB in 154 IP. When you take into account that 50 BB come from 5 individuals that is pretty good stuff.

Grant Fontenot has been a pleasant surprise and can maybe give you some back end set up type innings. It is looking like Sheerin will be a pretty good option to look at for a closer role.

Cooper Williams is looking like he may take a step up and get one of those weekend spots if he continues in a positive trajectory from fall. He has been really good this fall.
Per Scubas scrimmage reports Pearson is 1-15 with 4BB and 1 HBP. Unfortunately a 45% K rate so far.

The 2B and 3B position battles will be a fun one to watch through the fall and spring.

Somebody else this year paid a kid from Middle Tennessee like $700k as a UDFA.

Just saw this. It was the Rays. They paid him $732,500 as a UDFA.

Also a couple other SEC related signing:
17th Rd Luke Roupe (South Carolina) - $225,000
20th Rd Ma'Kale Holden (Bama) - $410,000
19th Rd Chase Bentley (A&M) - $757,500

re: Who Plays CF ?

Posted by BayTiger13 on 7/23/25 at 10:33 am to
Jay Johnson was on Tiger Rag Radio and they asked if the surprise of Stanfield not getting drafted and coming back is a problem with how to lineup the OF with the plan of Curiel going to CF next season. Jay said the way for it not to be a problem is to have complete communication with the players and he told Stanfield that if he were to come back that Curiel would be in CF and Stanfield told him that he would be the best LF in the country. So safe to say that answers the question for everyone that Stanfield will be in LF, Curiel in CF, and Brown in RF.

When do they have to be 21 by to be eligible for the draft?

Before the day of the draft

Have to turn 21 on or before August 1. I think this went into place in 2023 instead of the date changing with the date of the draft or the 45 days prior that they used to do.
Derek Curiel, John Pearson, and Maverick Rizy are all draft eligible sophomores next season.

Sophomores not draft elligible:
Cade Arrambide
William Schmidt
Casan Evans
Cooper Williams
Danny Lachenmayer
Ryler Smart
Ethan Plog

Freshmen:
William Patrick
Zion Theophilus
Reagan Ricken
Ethan Clauss
Marcos Paz
Omar Serna
Jack Ruckert
Mason Braun
Jonah Aase
Not sure if you mean on the whole team or just spun the same thing I said with just the incoming recruits but even so that would be for the year after. They have plenty more than you named not draft eligible after next season.
They meant 19 at the year they come out of high school. Yall are saying the same thing. If a kid is 19 coming out of high school and goes to school then the kid will be 21 by the sophomore seasons draft which makes them draft eligible.
Yes, the only draft eligible sophomores from this class will be William Patrick and Zion Theophilus.

Hopefully he doesn’t have an early birthday like Kade.

He doesn't. He will not be a draft eligible sophomore.
