I'd probably be one of those people. Stay with the house until the last second.
Had a guy with us in the neighborhood, he alone saved his house as we were stretched so thin. I had to maintain my awareness to where he was at in case things went really south which distracted me a little but after a bit I realized he was solid. I'll never forget his hat as he was looking up at me in the engine. It said "going down with the ship" a bit of levity in the moments of complete sh!t show was perfect.
Yes it took a bit for her to shake it. She still thinks about her friend and we have a small photo wall dedicated to her in the house. Things that drove her nuts were people using "route 91 survivor" as an identity to gain attention for social events etc...
Yes. Wife lost her best friend in Las Vegas shooting. Only by the grace of god did she leave the area right before it started raining bullets She and I had tickets to Jason Aldean the week after and she figured she'd see him the next week at our home venue, and she wanted some sleep after the long weekend of partying with girlfriends. She was walking directly under the gun fire as it was happening and looked up and could see the muzzle flashes and the fire alarm strobes going off as she crossed the street heading to the mandalay bay. I was at work and received a call at 10 with her on the line saying there's been a shooting at the concert and Nicole was missing. I discounted it at first as small typical gun play gangish type violence until I turned on the vegas PD scanner channel on the scanner application and heard the magnitude. I knew she was safe in her room but it made for a long night as I knew the area would be locked down and it would take me 4 hours to drive there and not even get close to the hotel, or fly out in the morning and get her. I ended up flying out to go get her and the scene was surreal coming into vegas. I remember the curtains from the room blowing, and the quietness of the hotels and casinos. I walked into the back of Mandalay Bay, and believe it or not there were people still there playing slots. Picked her up, got her, flew her home and we didnt say a single word the entire flight back. I spent 42 minutes in Vegas on Oct 2 2017.

This was night 1 right as it came into the main area of Pacific Palisades. My engine co, and I were put right in the middle of it. I had 2 brand new guys who had never been in this type of stuff before. It was the most intense every nerve alive head on a swivel moment I've ever been in. We ended up saving 5 houses on the street where this was taken. We lost 8-10. It truly was hurricane force winds. gusts at 90 were clocked down on Malibu. Spent 10 days out there. 2 days of firefighting, the rest working with search teams for body recoveries, and we ended up helping out people open their safes to recover valuables.

So much speculation. Only thing we know is they had a situation and obvious fire, and a decision was made to try and fly it off probably per their training (Past V1 (point of no return) at V2 (take off safe speed). God speed, those aviators tried their best with the Sh#t sandwich they were handed.

great work as always !!! Odd not so oft modeled subject. Dig the obscurity of it.
Chino planes of fame just put one back in the air after a major overhaul. Doin' laps over my house the other day. Razor back version G model. They are incredibly large in person. Dwarfs many of the fighters.

Favorite fighter? That’s a tough one. I’d have to say the P-47 Thunderbolt. I just like its lines

23 skidoo based at my home airport... Get to see it fly occasionally. Unmistakable sound. Those turbosuperchargers have a whine that you can hear for miles.

Yup. I'm here. I live in a very red area of Orange County. Nothing going on here. The city of Santa Ana is the closest parallel to LA with a saturated alien, lots of illegals, population. That city is one I know CBP is watching, and the locals are indeed nervous.

One of my all time favorites, very nice work !. Have been a Warhawk fan since I was a kid. This one in the photos is a WW2 vet built in 1943 and flown by Canada with a confirmed Japanese fire balloon kill. Went to Colorado in the 50's flew cloud seeding missions, gear up landing, and sold. Chino got it flying in the 80's with numerous movie appearances .
Chinos P40N. My son quite a few years apart. We get to be around quite a few unique birds being locals at KCNO.

Read this... if only 50% true it's got some merit
Interesting ! Love the history of some of the airframes. Red Bulls P38 was Lefty Gardners Reno racer "White Lightning"!

Super Nice work !! We have a great uncle in the family lines who was shot down in Normandy in one in the first hours. He bellied it in on the beach and ended up near the cliffs pinned up against the cliffs as the Germans couldn't fire straight down at him. He spent the entire day there watching it unfold and later was thanked by the engineers for clearing the beach of mines so they could set troops on landing craft directly without having to sweep it first in the area he was in.
Been lucky to get to see a few of the remaining ones occasionally at my home base in Chino. "Dottie Mae" was there for quite a while last year. Always impressive and super cool to be told "Youre number 2 follow the thunderbolt on final".

Some of the most beautiful women are latinas, some of the ugliest too. Many have alot of "Growtential". We refer to the larger models of them out here as "TORTAS".
