Wasted pitches

Posted by warm on 3/29/26 at 2:17 pm
So many wasted pitches by these LSU pitchers today. Why throw it 2 feet off the plate with 2 strikes? So annoying to watch over and over again
I recently was going through some personal issues and listened to nothing but Floyd for about 2 weeks. Meddle, Darkside, WYWH, Animals and The Wall. Depending on my mood at the time, I can make a strong case for The Wall, Darkside or WYWH as the best. As much as I love Meddle, it’s weak in the middle. San Tropez and Seamus just don’t quite fit. That is something that I cannot say about Darkside, WYWH or The Wall. Gun to my head I’d pick WYWH with Darkside a very close second. We hear the hits from Darkside all the time and I think it causes us to downplay how incredible that album is lyrically and musically. Us and Them being my favorite.
Natto- do you find it did anything for you? Did you have any problems before, or test for results?

I was expecting a bit more. Anytime I watch military movies, when regular stuff gets unrealistic I sort of lose interest. I did watch it all the way through, but would have liked to see them fight the aliens as a whole at the end.
Creatine
K2D3
Magnesium Glycinate
Natto
DIM

Not daily but also use a nitric oxide booster pre workout, and whey protein isolate post workout.

How long have you been taking Natto?
Why spray poison in your yard to kill harmless creatures? I don’t understand

Rib injuries are painful. Definitely worth an X-ray to ensure nothing is out of place. Then it’s just a pain tolerance issue. Make DAMN sure you take deep breaths throughout the day. Pneumonia can creep in if you’re taking shallow breaths for days.

Chicot state park is beautiful. The state arboretum is also not far.

re: Extended Fasting Advice

As an older (50) person, the loss of muscle mass on extended fasts may not be worth the benefit of the fast. I will do a 24 hr fast once a month but that is as far as I go
All 4 kids in Succession were awful human beings

After receiving your ashes on Ash Wednesday, how long do you keep them on your forehead? Do you brush them off when you hop back into the car? Wear them all day?

I’ve always had questions about that too. Generally I keep them on until my first bathroom visit, then wash it off. Other times I’ve kept it for hours. To each his own. Ask yourself why would you want to keep it on? If it’s for the reminder all day that from dust you were formed and to dust you will return, then keep it on all day. If it’s because you want to spark a conversation with someone about your faith, keep it on. If it’s because you want to semi- gloat about how much of an awesome Catholic you are, then wipe it off.

Do all of these cardiologists just automatically prescribe statins, like it's a default?

That is what I’m trying to avoid by being selective with my cardiologist. However statins are a relatively safe and effective way to reduce risk despite what you may hear and see on the internet. They are proven to stabilize soft plaque and help prevent new one

What was your doctor’s thought on higher calcium score and good stress test—as far as future monitoring and treatment? I had a 200+ CAC score recently. Same place as yours. Stress test and more bloodwork scheduled. Have been really healthy the last 10 years, but doesn’t necessarily negate the first 30 years of life!

Future testing has not been discussed. The best protocol for now (pending finding a cardiologist- down to Dr. Moraes or per my GP- Dr. De Puy) is to see if I can get on a PCKS9 inhibitor to drop my APOB and maybe lower LPa somewhat. The fact that the stress test was awesome goes a long way for him. APO B was just done and it came back within range, but was the high end of the "normal" value. Going to try and drop that number in half
Update: Stress Echocardiogram was great. Got up to 98% max heart rate, had them check my VO2Max and it was also great. They looked at the LAD and found nothing that would indicate any significant blockage, no arterial stenosis (which is another area that LPa affects)....so now i'm down to that one risk factor, high LPa. FWIW, i started taking high flavanol cocoa (Cocoa Via) about 4 weeks ago and, while my BP wasn't bad, it has dropped by about 5 points (avg 132/78 down to 127/75). So something to consider for any of you wanting a supplement. We shall see if the insurance will approve a PCKS9 Inhibitor, which could lower LPa and drop my APO B do further decrease risk. Thanks again for all the support!

Who is downvoting Cleerly and why?

Not I sir, but the one drawback I see is the radiation exposure which is fairly significant. I’m doing the stress test echocardiogram tomorrow which isn’t as sensitive as Cleery but, if it is good, then I’ll have a real question of should I ask for it or not. I appreciate your input
Dr has ordered an ultrasound stress test. Also a pcks9 inhibitor which lowers APOb and can reduce LPa a little bit- 30% or so
I'm a fit, trim, active 50 y/o who just found out i have genetic condition that causes very high LPa levels (all other levels great, no other risk factors), then comes the Calcium test showing 0 for all but 1 arteries, but that 1 is the widowmaker with a 120 score. I'm in search of a cardiologist who will be aggressive in approaching my treatment with my specific conditions.
I've tried corn and power bait with little luck. Last week, took my daughter and decided to use a small 1/32 oz jig head with a crappie tube jig bounced on the bottom with 4lb test and caught a bunch

re: Very high LPA

Posted by warm on 1/10/26 at 2:49 pm to
As i've gone down this rabbit hole of LPa, the PCSK9 inhibitors do indeed lower LPa about 30% on average; however, since mine is about 300% higher than high, it doesn't really do anything. I suppose now the course of action is to start Statins for the rest of my life to lower Apo B as low as possible. It's just a real crappy situation, I workout and eat healthy my whole life and then this genetics thing happens and I have no control over it.

It could be that the comparables they were using were the “asking” prices. They know the asking price is not typically the sale price; and made an adjustment.

The above is correct. Also, as you eluded to, mileage plays a big factor, as does overall condition of your specific vehicle. Vehicles for sales on a car lot are assumed to be mostly free of dents, dings, and would have a really clean interior. Your vehicle may not be free if those dents and dings, and it could also cause the value to drop in comparison to those other vehicles.
