I just don't have a problem with the NCAA and officials trying to protect OUR players.

Sure, like the Refs protected LSU's QB in the 'bama game when he took a speared helmet to the chest with an official standing right there ... as opposed to the official way back down field tossing the hankie on the Chad Jones decleater tonight.

If it was such an obvious penalty, how come the pair of refs standing closest to the two players, both close with clear sight-lines, weren't the ones littering the field with hankies?

Come on, winning cures all...Winning the SEC, or at least the SEC West would be a step in the right direction.

True, but in order to get to the SECCG to have a shot at winning it, you're going to have to be able to get past 'bama (so long as Saban hangs round there) and probably Petrino's up and coming Razorbacks as well.

Blast it, Chicken, I've hoped against hope (and then some) that Miles would find a way to grow into a SEC HC ... because I hated the thought of the LSU program having to rebuild all over again, again.

Today, coupled with the ongoing poor clock management, glaring lack of overall toughness and on-the-field discipline in the post-Hester/Dorsey/Steltz, et.al. era, along with the inexplicable personnel decisions over the course of CLM's entire tenure at LSU, it's clear CLM is never going to be anything but in-over-his-head and drowning as a HC in SEC FB.

Nothing could have made that any clearer than that which culminated in the major cluster-frick at the end of the game today. The one CLM post-game presser I had the misfortune of catching on the sports news even this far north put the exclamation point on that. :wah:

But, then, like I've written here all along: I'm biased insomuch as I'd never hire a HC for LSU FB who wasn't hardcore defense. But, that's just me. Sure, you need offense, but defense in the SEC still wins championships.

Thanks for always doing the purple & gold proud, KW. Heal up for the combines, then give 'em hell in the NFL!

You spent a decade or so in brain injury research, too?

As to Lafell and others, it is what it is for them and their generation and culture.

Why ridicule D-Byrd when you have no way of really knowing how much of his brain injury affects both speech and his overall communication.

Those of us who have worked in that field know just how it difficult recovery from these types of brain injuries can be. No matter how hard Demetrius works, he may never make a complete recovery. Though I certainly hope that he will, of course.

However, whatever, I'm a dipshit for posting this. I just hope Breesus will forgive me.

You plenty good sport here after the fact ... we were all thinking it, probably (insert wide-eyed innocent look on my part here ). Some of us just didn't post our thoughts during the game, however.

Breesus win. So Breesus forgive all ... just this once! :usa:
When you know what the crap a severe brain injury can do to both speech and every other area of life, get back with civilized folk, jackazz.

Go sleep it off, or not, who gives a crap ... :blah: :loser: :blah:

We may come back and win and I hope we do, but seeing this crap makes me sick to my stomach.

I hope you don't have a butt bruise from the door on that :bandwagon: whopping you in the azz on the way off.

I think DByrd is still feeling the effects of that car accident unfortunately.

Yep, he is, regrettably ... the type of ignorant ridicule evidenced in this thread sets me off.

I feel like hes trying to tell us something but I can't make it out.

Stupid is as stupid does. You could at least keep your "mouth" shut, virtually speaking, as opposed to showing up with this thread and revealing yourself to be not only dumber than dirt, but downright damn stupid as well.

Could I get you a box of chocolates?

FTR, Demetrius Byrd was critically injured in an awful car accident last Spring prior to the draft. He suffered an absolutely terrible brain injury, from which he is mighty blessed to have recovered THIS well, slurred speech and all.

Before you make snap judgments in the future, azzhat, educate yourself.

They will likely get left out again this year for 1 1-loss SEC school.

This.

Any one-loss SEC champion will trump a one-loss anybody else based on strength of schedule 99 times out of a 100 (if not 100% of the time at that).

Damn, I knew I should've just taken a nap after my plane landed and I got to the hotel before checking the Rant.

Not that you should particularly give a crap what I think, but I do like your perspective. Reminds me a bit of a post-game interview with Peyton Manning after his receivers had been perpetually roughed up by the Patriots LBs and DBs during one of those early Colts/NE match-ups.

The trying to be helpful sports interviewer asked him if he was upset the refs hadn't called more defensive holding and pass interference on NE. To which Peyton replied, "Nope, I just wish our defense had done more of it too!"
I did, your answer and mine crossed. I edited. My bad.
Given the improving defense, nope.

He just got a $50,000 raise.

Straw man argument. It was a pre-scheduled, across-the-board % of salary increase for the AD.

Try another straw man argument, that one's too easy to burn ... not that I've ever been a fan of the Crowton hire.

Mister Coach Miles, get your head out of your arse boy.

Ummmm, I'd clean the shite off my own head first, if I were you (which I'm thankful I'm not). Miss that delay of game penalty and those two time outs a confused RS burned on three of his six plays 'twixt the hedges, did you?
