I have a sneaky suspicion that we look like Illinois next year. Foreign born pro guys. And sprinkle in a few lanky positionless players.
Agreed. He started to string together a few good plays towards the end of the season. He's one of our most physically gifted players on the team...I hope he takes this summer even more serious and works on his game.

Rooting for Weston Davis this fall!

I’m glad that she didn’t back down to Geno’s arse. That was completely out of line. Running to the back like a little bitch was even more pathetic.
Read this announcement as "We are Ranked No.1 so much as everyone else has not started competing yet. We will slide, but this is a good measurement of where we are today"

Track program is still a shell of itself, but we have some pieces in places we haven't had in a while, so we should be better. My guess is this is probably a top 15ish roster. Which would be good. Hoping that now we've gotten the big sports out of the way, Verge and team can put money into the best, historically, team we have on campus. (relax before you keyboard warriors start to say why track isn't the best sport on campus...i'm biased)

Borderline great recruiting honestly. That's 6 NBA players.
None of this will ever make me hate Tate and what he did for LSU...I'm thankful for what he did, and how he led.

Rousse seems to be doing the things right that we know about. Athletics. Let's see what happens when adversity hits.

Excited that James Dalton, the Chancellor of the Flagship, is aligned with many of the things that Tate was already doing. We will see a lot of benefits from this as time progresses. Not having to start from scratch and building upon.

Holistic Admissions - Started under F. King, it's gone now.
Alignment - Tate moniker
Athletics as an Advertisement for Academia - Tate shared this philosophy
Academia Boost - Tate saw great advancements
Library - Tate
Dorms - Tate
Academic Buildings - Tate
Stresses of having one person being the President and Chancellor - Tate as the same ones before him, could only do so much.

Tate was just a casualty of an administration change, you guys just try very hard to finger point. He's not here anymore...hopefully our new team of Dalton AND Rousse, will bare great fruit.
think you’re making way too big a deal out of an assistant basketball coach hire. It’s neither great nor terrible

My thoughts exactly. Johnny Jones has been a successful HC. I don't care about "major recruiting"...hell we as a basketball program have been out of that too for the past few years. NIL brings the deal home, coaches still have to get you in the door. I'm a bit shocked that we don't understand this concept yet. I'd rather us have a Tiger on the staff that has been around the block, then some rando from Nevada or somewhere with a similar resume.
Mulkey should call up to Iowa and grab LaSondra Barrett and tell her she needs to come home, stat!
With a Dad who understands the landscape of basketball from yesteryear and today, I don't think we have a shot. Would love for him to be here, but I just don't see it.

Seimone was a coach in various of the WNBA development leagues. And she was a coach for the Sparks and Lynx. LSU is not her first coaching stop.

It's okay if you don't know ball bro. Not all of us are like you.
High school basketball in the state is actually in as good of a place than it's been in a long time.
But will she? SHE told us out of her own mouth, in her opening presser, this is a stepping stone to get to the WNBA. With the W now expanding, my expectations are that we may see her interview.

Would love to see her stay here and take over though.

Gary was really good at what his role was for us. Was also really good at Player Development too. This is a good hire. All accounts point to him being a good person. Having good people be leaders of young people is a good thing.

bingo. Need good players to win.

Coaches count in critical moments, but talent level usually rises to the top. We don't have the talent.
Bumping this again.

Jai Lucas - Miami's head coach

Canes are 24-6 this season, after they were 15-17 last year. Lucas is a young coach (37) from Houston (understands the landscape of Texas and Gulf coast basketball), and was on staff at Duke for a few years before getting plucked away by Miami. We can compete with Miami in a bball coach bid. Played at Florida and Texas.

He was hired by Duke...a school that doesn't hire outside of their own. He's a stud. Let's get this guy back in the area where he belongs. The Wade interest seems forced and lazy and asinine.

From all accounts, there's some donor fatigue. I don't think we need to swing for the fences. We need good pedigree, someone who the young guys know (ie a young coach) and roll the dice.

If Mulkey retires, Redus or Seimone will take the job. This won't be an external hire. Mulkey ain't retiring with these freshies she got. Nothing to worry/think about right now.
I don't join in on the bash Coach McMahon threads, because it's pointless. If we do get a new coach, we need to take a page out of Mulkey's playbook. Redus seems to have a great pulse on the AAU circuit.

We need a coach on the men's side that knows the AAU circuit in and out. Our Tiger Coaches hearts seem to be in the right place. There's some sneaky great talent that's in state. If we can land some of these guys, pair them with experienced transfers, and get an atmosphere in the PMac that puts butts in seats, i think a rebuild won't take that long. Heck, there is enough proof in the pudding that rebuilds don't take long.

Wish: Coach from a hotbed of D1 talent (north east / Mid Atlantic), hard nose defensive minded assistant to pair with a few guys we have on staff now.
No he's not MVS. MVS received WR2 targets his first 5 or six years in the league.

I want Hilton to be successful. Seeing him play special teams here, makes me want to believe he's bought into that role. He can be an All Pro gunner, and make a great career at it, while being WR5. No knock on him. Best of wishes.
I like the enthusiasm. And not saying that the OP is trying to say anything otherwise...but these guys are simply doing their jobs. Hankton was all over as well. Need to see them reel in a big fish. Would like to see a flip of Royal by McDonald and Lane.

That's the standard. Then get Addai and LaFell Jr to commit.

These trips and photo opps are merely salad dressing to me.
