re: Recruiting coordinator

Jeff Martin is still on staff. That’s a win
We turned to shite when Denbrock left. Kelly was bad at coaching hires, and we repeatedly were in the position of needing to hire coaches after the season. Of Davis was elite as a recruiter and bad as a coach and that was valued, he should have been supplemented with better analyst help. The only failure in the room I see is BK.
Played the worst. Probably has the biggest upside of them all.
Hometown kid from Scotlandville (Joseph) played unconscious and made it a game, until he didn't. He had 34. Scotlandville has had the best program in the state pound for pound the past 20 years.

We have a recruiting coordinator. I think you guys may be mixing up the roles and responsibilities.
Just stopping in to say there’s no reason to expect a true freshman RB to step in Day 1 and start anywhere in the SEC. Too steep of a learning curve. Idk if I’m in the minority, bringing in Berry slowly was clearly the right thing to do. We saw the same thing last season with Durham. They need to get in game reps to the develop and then you take the training wheels off.
Need to know what Lacy's injury is. I like our RBs with this new system more than Lacy. Just need to add a different body style to the mix.

Depends on who stays, we cannot expect to find 4 starting lineman in the portal. Moore is the No.1 get that we could ask for on the line...Curne could be 2 if his move was to test the waters to get paid, and nothing more. RT between Adams/Williams should be okay. That leaves us potentially with 2 O Line needs.

WR - I think we can do better than all Ole Miss transfers at WR. No disrespect at all to those guys. Miller from Colorado, paired with a guy from Ole Miss would be fine. Taron Francis and Kyle Parker next year will be good money.

Am not of the belief that we need 2 CBs. We had a decent haul last year at that spot aside of DJ Pickett. Next season Pickett and Woodland will be our starters, so if you want to go get another guy who has played alot i'm okay with that, but we don't need another CB1 type guy...Woodland showed he is ready and has what it takes to be a guy we can depend on.

We lose Haulcey, but keep the Spears and Cooley. We still have Joel Rogers, and Anning (not sure if he's a CB or S). Do we get 1? Maybe.

I think we need to explore options at edge. If we can get a plug and play edge like Stewart, to pair with what we have returning and coming in...that'd be golden.

I really like our LB room. Maybe get a plug and play guy...but I'm not sure how you keep those young guys off the field after a full offseason of learning.

I’m all for wishful thinking. Our DLine wasn’t this stellar stop that we try to talk up some times. Would love to have seen Kyle get a second year training this group, but the world was not lit on fire
Big named General Contractors may or may not have been providing pricing exercises midway through the summer. This thing has real legs...it just moves slow.
Meatball Johnson. Jamar Cain. Corey Raymond. Blake Baker. Gerald Chatman. All were fired or "fired" and did well afterwards. Obviously Raymond and Blake got rehired lol

I don’t think we can carry the same thought process of on field coaches to this staff. The DLine coach will coach everyone, because we now have Inside and Outside WR coaches.

Cain, is undoubtedly the name that was mismanaged the most in the past decade. He was the fix to our problems, and we had a dumbass run him off.
i was picking that up...hence the "lane that he will excel in".
Lance wanted to play. Can you guys stop with these damn made up lies lol.

The kid wanted to play Tackle and not sit out another year. He went from getting beat up his first year of playing full time, to making the All SEC team this year. Seems like his bet on himself is paying off.

Agreed Crown. This is a lane that he's going to excel at.
Or maybe the kid wanted to be coached by the guy who recruited him. Some times it doesn't require an overthought think piece on reasoning.

Star gazing is absolutely correct. Sure, lesser star guys create feel good stories as they develop and become great. But the proof is absolutely in the pudding as it relates to the guys with stars panning out and being great.

Stars to Draft comparison
Let’s be honest here, Brad Davis and Frank were the only coach aside of Raymond that we could bet would have us in conversation with a wide array of blue chip talent year in and year out.

Our new staff is here, and I want to see them recruit at a high level just like we’ve seen we have the capacity to do in the past. I want them to develop the talent. And I want us to win.
Frank and Thomas at Ole Miss, Brandon Harris & Juluke at Texas, Roberts at Arkansas, Sumrall at UF, and A&M next door…it seems that this cycle a lot of dilution to the personnel that has ties to Louisiana happened. We will see quickly if this changes the dynamic of how well we do to keep in state talent home.

Regarding Coach Frank specifically. Hats off to you, and good luck at Ole Miss.
