Moon is an idiot and the Montgomery paper is an absolute joke. He is on a sports talk show in Montgomery at lunch time that is worse than that.
I didn't make it to the game but my brother told me every single LSU person he came into contact with was super nice to him.

For some reason he has always disliked LSU while I have always told him how much fun you guys are. I think he is starting to come around because he has mentioned several times how much fun he had.

Anyway, thanks for being nice to my kid brother.
The Arkansas fans will feel the same as I feel about Coach Saban. I really like him and support him 100%. I think he is a great coach, he was a great hire, and he will turn the program around. I really hope he is in Tuscaloosa for a long, long time. However, every time I hear a job has opened up or may open up I get nervous inside.

Some people may not like to hear that but I'm just being honest. I had a co-worker (and fellow Bama fan) talk to me almost an hour the other day about why he thinks Saban will retire at Bama. I hope he is right, I just don't believe it yet.

I have actually heard hear[sic] today that they are considering offering the job to Rush Propst
That could be interesting, I would like to see how Rush would do in college. Word down here is he is going to be the next Lee High School (Montgomery) coach.

I had a couple of people tell me Mike DuBose may be in the mix for Southern Miss.

I didn't post it to make myself feel good or to sing the praises of Alabama. Just my feelings on trying to hire a coach in today's college football climate.

May be BS but some dude wrote a letter to the Michigan president and attached a story told to him by an ex Michigan player. Skip down to the " (Begin forwarded story)" part.

quote:

Contact was made today (Sunday) by Michigan Admin. to Les with Les telling him "door is not closed but closing."

Former player ends with:

Don't blame Les on this one. He wanted to be the head coach here but it seems other people had other agendas. A lot of former players are really upset about the way this was handled, including myself.

Coaching searches today

I'm glad that schools other than Alabama are seeing that it is not easy to hire a coach today. Last year I had to listen to everyone go on and on about how nobody wants the Alabama job. People made all kinds of fun about some of the rumored candidates wanting to stay at their school. Times have changed and the coaches have changed. I think coaches used to measure their success by the jobs they could get. All the coaches aspired to coach at Michigan, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Alabama, USC and on and on and on. Today a guy can make $1 million a year at a school where he only has to go 8-4 to keep everyone happy and not have all the pressure of the fans/alums. Sure, some of the coaches still want those big name jobs but most of them just want to win somewhere and make $$$. Unless Michigan has a Michigan man who wants the job they are going to have to pay to get someone up there. The days of living off your name are over. Alabama didn't offer Saban $32 million over 8 years because it sounds good, that is what it takes to get someone to take the job.

I know this won't be a popular opinion here but I think all the ongoing searches today just put a spotlight on what an accomplishment it was for Bama to get Saban. I didn't think they could make it happen but they did.
I think the Bama job is better. :doublebird:
