It actually is. A church is not required to file a 501(c)(3). They are granted it automatically. They are only required to report unrelated business revenue.

That is correct, however I believe the point was that a church is never answerable to the IRS. That is wrong. The IRS can always investigate if a church is actually a "Church" by IRS definition to determine if it is tax exempt (believe me - I have seen it happen).

Ummmm, no. That's not correct.
I just saw that the original link in this thread hit CNNSI.com.

But here is what I don't get. They say this

quote:

Though it's likely just a rumor started by a LSU fan, the Internet is buzzing with word that Nick Saban's agent contacted West Virginia about its open coaching position.

It's a freaking WVU message board. LSU has nothing to do with it. Amazing.

Scoop - Are you sure you're not a Notre Dame fan, because this is the same, long-for-the-glory-days stuff I here them spout constantly in defense of a tired, old program.
He's already add Michigan to his "list"

While this is probably just a rumor, this is the predicament that Saban has put himself in. Reputations like the ones Saban and Petrino have are earned from experience. Therefore, you can't just dismiss it out of hand.

Here is a better link to the same story

More importantly, here it is from a Arky alumnus:

(Quote from ESPN.com) Defensive end Jamaal Anderson, the Falcons' first-round pick from Arkansas, was asked what he would tell his alma mater about its new coach.

"One word: Disloyal," Anderson replied.

quote:

His quote was, “I will be the coach at LSU next season.”

quote:

Well, when that? Next season? Well, OK, I don’t know if he said next season. I don’t know.

I stopped reading here. Spielman is talking out of his arse. He doesn't even know what Miles said in response to the DFP report.

Pat Forde Article

Here is an article by Pat Forde slamming Petrino unmercifully. FYI, Forde probably knows Petrino better than most...he was a reporter for the Journal-Courier in Louisville before going to ESPN.

Coaches that sucked in the NFL
No way Jones or McFadden are giving up that much money

I guess their "source" is better than Desmond Howard this time.

I swear the continuing saga of Miles to Michigan is the biggest non-story story in history. It has continuously been proven to have no basis, but it won't go away. Who is to blame? Media and Michigan alums.

Apparently, you have never seen U of H under Briles. To say his offense is unique, i.e. innovative, is a drastic understatement.

Nutt's getting out at Arky, because after this year they'll have zero talent. (no DMAC, no Monk, no Jones, no Hillis)

Absolutely. Plus he was going to have a tough time recruiting in Arkansas after the Springdale debacle. If he had a loaded team coming back next year, no way he leaves to go to Ole Miss.
