Why didn’t he build a monster when he was actually here?
For LSU standards and any non blue blood program for that matter he had a very successful tenure. Including the COVID year that was cancelled as LSU would have gotten in, he went to 4 straight tourneys and the team in 22-23 was shaping up talent wise/ experience and depth was shaping up to be his best and easily most balanced roster.

Trump came across as not in control of his emotions.
I think he handled it better than 99.9% of the people breathing, if they had to deal with someone as detached from reality and pathetic as Zelenskyy. He got emotional when the track suit toddler, quite literally starts telling the sitting President, VP, and those present, “What the American people are going to feel.” or that he and the Ukrainian people have been alone in their fight.

That’s about as presidential and American as it can get. Regardless of party, politics, or anything else. The seal, office of the President, and the flag/republic, are sacrosanct. IDGAF who you are, disrespect the nation, even the blue haired alphabet people and trannies galore. That cannot stand.

Zelenskyy wearing the track suit looks even worse for him. It totally appears as if he is a refugee that has no basic understanding or awareness that the world has changed.

You are forgetting that the vast majority of these employees have no real profession or skills they have learned in government. Many of those fed contractors are actually contracted out to do the job the employees should be doing in the first place.

Another thread highlighted the sweatsuit look and it being his “war outfit”. Even the way he gets out of the vehicle is weird af, very defensive and child like.

Love how ole Whoopie chimes in “Might have been”, when Joy says, “I don’t know if he was or wasn’t”.
Jill Biden may or may not have been a medical doctor and a great choice for surgeon general.

Zelenskyy ain’t got shite on Kip Holden, he should take a detour down to Baton Rouge for a “summit”. Where a bunch of politicians and he can discuss modern day corruption practices and the new “cutting edge” ways to steal from the governed and get off scott free.

From a players perspective, never in the history of certainly college sports, maybe even American sports with money. Has there been so much freedom for athletes to move and reset or test their market value than before. They are headed towards a 5-in-5 model, with no redshirts, no waivers needed, and potentially unlimited transfers. I do not know the numbers or %, but I know there are some that love where they are at, but they simply cannot pass up the money and not leave.

How would you implement this without collective bargaining?
While certainly I would never be mistaken for a labor or contracts lawyer. Probably in the current system, without a CBA, would be first a commissioner/conference decision. Then the collectives of each individual school transferring the “contract” between them.
Hypothetically, you could almost make a small niche market akin to an insurance syndicate. Where each collective acts like a company. Each player signs a “policy”, and if they switch companies a % of the new premium is thus given to the old school/collective. With the conferences acting like reinsurers. In many ways the conferences already do for many things.

Who woulda thunk a failed comedian with no experience in anything government. Would not be the Abraham Lincoln of the 21st century of the world, but more akin to an African leader we decided to prop up. Atleast in South America, Africa, and at times in Asia. The ones we propped up, were cheaper, and just stayed quiet and content milking us and not getting overthrown.
re: What is the Rams thinking on the QB switch?

As a Who Dat, would much rather Rodgers, one because the end would be nearer and some light at the end of tunnel on this Gayle/Loomis train to hell. Also no matter what having a hall of famer at QB is pretty cool.

Don’t forget an outrageous and often times dangerous view on the constitution. No longer is it simply their “loose constructionist” talking point or view. To the point where, at every turn they take a crap on the document no matter the interpretation of the day that suits their agenda.

While I do not follow, nor understand completely international soccer. One thing that has become readily apparent is much like in European football especially the British football pyramid. CFB and men’s basketball is headed or almost at a point, where there are conferences that either have (The top flight) and those that have not. This is not just to look out for smaller schools or those in lesser conferences but talking with a friend that is maybe one of the less than 10 die hard Tulane supporters. He knows Sumrall will get poached, but it’s not just when but how much of the team is gutted and then how much will it cost in NIL to bring in a new coach and pay the new players is the burden.
As many know, finishing second or third in recruiting high school athletes is more important than ever because, if or when, they jump in the portal after a year or two. That relationship is not only already built. The connections to the “advisors”, agents, family members, and handlers is there. Just as in soccer, with their multiple transfer windows, and smaller clubs losing top end talent when it is time. If there was a transfer fee that is paid by the new schools collective on top of the new NIL deal for the transfer players. The number I would suggest is 33% of the initial first year package. So for a $100k deal. The new schools collective would transfer or pay $33k to the school from which a player transferred. Not only would it help the have nots, but potentially keep more players at their current schools.

re: Mcmaniacs, What does Coach McMahon do well?
Posted by Coastrashtiger on 2/23/25 at 12:54 pm
I would say he is very good at developing bigs and overall team development. I think he has made some blunders with roster management and the NIL budget jumping up into SEC basketball is awfully hard to develop guys if they are only here for one year.
I also think he is a very good second half coach. I am not here to say we don’t have the talent so he doesn’t get to show that, or that at the end of the day we have two losing seasons in three years. But at Murray and in tight games he does push some right buttons.
I think he is a very genuine coach, and players know when a coach gives an f or not about them. How that translates is hopefully we are able to keep together the 2024 recruiting class, Reed and Chest come back. And we are able to get a veteran PG this offseason that has been a starter for 2-3 years that is looking for a coach like Matt.
Lastly I think he arguably has one of the best 8-14 flash sets for under your own goal inbounding so I like coaches that can find 4-6 points that way. Instead of the toss it over the top then run into action.
This is a big if, but if and when he gets some stability with 3 or 4 guys on the court that have played together multiple years, his offense is very crafty and pretty awesome when it comes to the freedom from the elbows extended.
Lastly he is a very good organizer, and a professional in every sense of the word. My favorite term for guys like him is grinder, he came up the hard way in coaching. The amount of time and effort he expects from the team they see him putting it in. Not every coach is like that believe me.
I am neither a cult follower of Will Wade nor a McManiac love them both believe it or not. Did not like Johnny Jones or Trent Johnson whatsoever from the moment they were hired.

Will Wade may not have been the best X&O’s coach
Not trying to ask where people got this from, I know it was the style of play Will employed that made it seem this way. CWW and CMM have a ton in common and are good friends, that having been said one thing that Will was huge into was mathematics and precise what he called units to evaluate how a game went. Just curious who are the best Xavier and Os coaches in college basketball in your opinion and there is no someone has to be right and someone has to be wrong. I actually would say Wade brought a very novel thing that started in places like the A-10 and WCC ala Gonzaga, St. Mary’s, and now is huge in the Sun Belt. All it basically is much like a football chart. This play is successful this many given times by % with this player. He would run it into the ground either by laws of averages or on a good night someone goes off they would come out ahead. It does present some problems in tight postseason ball.

I would disagree, that may have been the numerical number on the rankings algorithm. But when you factor in the portal, and that most of the other schools had one if not two top 50 guys as in potential to be Day 1 starters at the SEC level. We are lacking. Most of the SEC especially the good teams are buying guys in the portal that are established starters or have 3 years at major schools. We are picking up off the Mid Major heap so to speak not saying our guys are trash but we have won what 3 games in the SEC and the other teams that are all better save one school are doing something different.
