Live oak and Sam Houston in the championship. I don’t see Sam Houston winning this. Live Oak is playing flawless.
This is how the Clemson game will go

Yes I know.. Clemson finished on a high note last year. Yes I’m aware they return a ton of players. I hear ya.
This game will seem eerily similar to the Texas game in 2019 in my opinion. Except I expect our defense to be tenfold better. I expect the pre-hype and build up to be just as big. Two big name quarterbacks going head-to-head and two coaches looking to prove something.
Looking at recruiting rankings, they’re simply is a large talent gap on these rosters. Not large as in astronomical, but large enough to feel comfortable. Not to mention Debo is the antichrist with the transfer portal.
Clemson fans will be in an uproar hearing the broadcasters say the names of our highly talented transfers make play after play. And reality will set in that you do in fact, have to pay to play with the big dogs.
Now is the time to get on the bus boys.

Don’t see anyone beating Live Oak. They seem to be in stride and a great energy within the program. Cassard has been here before and got the boys playing great ball.

What’s his name? If it’s who I think it is that’s a big blow to live oak.

What qb are you referring to?
2028 Calvin Ursin Live oak

According to his socials just received a LSU offer.
Made a post early This past football season on this kid. Local kid right down the road. I was at all of the Live Oak games last year for my sister on the dance team, and this kid constantly, CONSTANTLY, balled on offense and defense. Currently listed at 6-2 190.
Has a nice offer list already. Would not be at all surprised if he cracks the top 100. He’s that good.

Well a program wouldn’t even get remotely close to hiring a nick Saban without knowing they had NIL support. See Calipari last year.
Honest question for hoops fans

With the reports coming out of LSU being at not just the bottom end, but almost dead last in NIL support for basketball.. does that change your perception of McMahon?
Sure he showed a major step in the right direction from year one to two. And left lots of fans with optimism (including myself) at the end of year two. I don’t think he’s a bad coach, but I do look around the league obviously and we are like a Livingston parish JV team compared to others.
I don’t think it’s fair, nor right to castrate the basketball teams NIL funding or allotment, then pile on a coach for not competing with the proper tools given to him.
This is not in anyway a defend McMahon post. Just honest thoughts whether it’s a coach problem, or an AD problem for not leveling the playing field with NIL.

What’s the general consensus here? 11-0.. good wins. Some bad wins (last weekend vs wisky).
Are we thinking they’re the team to beat this year? They’ve won all there games and rightfully hold the number one spot at the end of the season. I feel often they’ve not been discussed as much as the other media darlings this year.
Good coach. Great defense. Slightly better than average quarterback. Just wondering if this is the year they finally put it all together.

My perspective on BK

This is in NO way defending Brian Kelly..
This is the year where he should have the slack to have a down year. He is getting the criticism (he deserves) this year because it is year 3. And he has JACK shite to show for it.
Last year with 3 first round draft picks and a heisman. He managed to shite on that season because he can’t hire a competent defensive coordinator and it squandered a great season.
It’s a perspective thing for me. It would hurt a lot less if he could’ve just won last year while he had the weapons. But just like his coaching tenure proves, he literally can not win the big games. Whether that be piss poor coordinator hires, piss poor roster management, etc. he just can’t get over that hump.
And now year 3. On paper this team is no where near ready to compete with the big boys. And we all knew that before the season started. And my point is continuously being proven this year. Sloan calls plays out of madden and we throw the ball like Texas tech under Leach.
He just isn’t capable of being an elite coach.

I’m on the Illinois money line and taking the under on OSU vs PSU. Along with a few other games parlayed in there. What’s the vibes today?

I think overall, the league has hired great coaches recently. Clark, Heupel, Kiffin.
As compared to dumpster fires currently.. Napier, Lebby.
Expand even out of the conference you have teams like Indiana and Nebraska who have been on a serious upswing with home run hires. What Cignetti has done at Indiana is absolutely astonishing.
But also to answer your question yes. The transfer portal and nil is keeping teams from hoarding 5 stars year in and year out.

I’ll be at all the Live Oak games this year to watch the sister dance. Will gladly bump this post to update on Ursin. There’s always been buzz around town about him, but seeing him on the field is something. I truly believe he’ll be a top 100 prospect nationally.

Was coming to post. Miss those days of having lockdown corners!! Textbook cornerback play on that INT!

In a time of NIL madness, it’s amazing to still see great coaching turn around a program.

Live Oak is trash…. They blow their load every year in middle school bc they are the only parish 5A team with one Jr high, as compared to Walker and Denham who split between 3.. They have some good skill players, but will never be a serious threat. Now - the Ursin kid is a man amongst boys. Also helps his step dad played in the NFL (practice squad maybe..?) and been teaching technique for years… couple that with size and athleticism, and you have a 5 star prospect. Question- he was playing defense too?! Safety I’m assuming?
Although I won’t agree they’re trash because I’m an alum… Definitely won’t say they’re something great hahaha. The middle school destroys everyone by 60 (literally) because like you said, the way the district is.
Ursin was playing corner and was absolute lock down. I think he will be the highest rated player in the state for 2028. He looked like a man against boys out there.
Live oak Vs Dunham

As you guessed it, Live Oak got throttled.
Elijah Haven Had some absolutely beautiful deep passes and a couple scores. He also ran at will. He did throw one INT. Live oak couldn’t tackle him with one guy. Kid was absolutely a giant out there.
On the other side Live Oak has Calvin Ursin Jr. who BALLED every play. He was in on every play on defense and offense. He stood out the most. Made some incredible catches at WR and had multiple pass breakups. Very tall kid with range, and he’s a 2028 guy.
Think this kid will be a big one.
And on one more note. Not sure who Live oaks kicker is but he was constantly hitting 50+ yard field goals during warmups. Kid has a serious leg.

Make no mistake…The old powers like nebraska, Tennessee, Miami are looking good today because the QBs they managed to land….not necessarily because of the head coaches. It’s a QBs game.
I agree with you 100%. But you don’t land high end QB’s without a head coach from a bad pedigree. Of the teams you just listed, all have made respectable hires within the past few years. Lane kiffin is a great example of this. He will have much more success recruiting high end QB’s than say Dave Aranda. I believe having a head coach with a proven winning record goes a long way.
