Pet care is one of the most recession proof businesses. There is no limit to the price people will pay for their pets. My research on this topic is limited to personal experiences.

The PowerPoint shown at the June update meeting is on the universitylakesproject.org website now. It provides many of the details of the project progress, including costs.
If I’m reading the slides correctly, $81 million has been raised for current contracts.One slide indicates that the running/walking/ bike paths will cost an additional $27 million. The expansion of Wampold Park will be between $14-16 million.

I attended the last update meeting held at LSU. The meeting set-up was amateurish, at best. Half the people had to stand because of limited seats. It was hard to hear because of no microphones for the audience asking questions. Very poor logistical management.
The vocal minority were concerned about the landscaping maintenance, the concept of a singular consortium managing the ongoing environment and the poor planning in determining fiscal requirements for execution.
Someone asked about the cypress and the project manager indicted that the cypress in the City Park Lake area was not sellable due to poor quality. They hope to sell the cypress from University Lake but that isn’t a definite.

Letterman once did a top ten fears of McDonald’s managers. Number 9 was that customers would find out that the fish sandwich and the apple pie were the exact same item…I laughed.

Belle was great in the MLB but not in the top 3 for LSU. Crews, Walker and Furniss were probably the best position players.

LSU did not commission Mardi Gras Mike. It was a LSU supporter that had the idea and approached Kern. Kern owns the float.
The cost of most of the recommended pillows was surprisingly high, but I was a novice pillow shopper. Most of the highly rated pillows were over $100. I justified my purchase by weighing the cost against the value of sound sleep and impact that sleep has on your long-term health.
I used old, inexpensive pillows until recently. I decided to upgrade and wanted a “cool” pillow for better sleep. After researching the options, I purchased a Sijo Flexcool pillow on Amazon ($72). You can add and remove the foam to create the desired height and firmness.
I wish I would have bought this years ago, as it’s been great for me.

The only MLB stadium without a traditional left field foul pole is a very cool architectural aspect to the stadium in San Diego. That unique construction also created an excellent sports trivia question.
