Laugh all you care to laugh, but those who remained in the stadium clearly displayed a strong sense of faith and character in their team, which is what I feel college football is all about. I love getting drunk and yelling my arse off, but I also don't s*** on my team when they play poorly, which is something many people cannot say after last night.

Look...I love trying to be a 'badass' just as much as each of you internet tough guys do. I love a beer just as much as the guy next to me. Whatever. But I also love the Tigers enough to do whatever the frick it takes. And when I flapped my arms and saw us actually hold the vaunted Trojan offense to a 3-and-out...I figured, 'what the frick...let's see what happens'. Then we score...then we hold them...then we score...then they touch the punt, etc, etc.
Agreed. Screw what everyone else thinks. The players on both sides certainly noticed the flapping of wings. Who knows if it did shite, but it certainly didn't hurt us. Plus, it kept me from going insane.
quote:I don't think anybody is proud that we won a game we should have had in the bag after the first quarter. However people are impressed that we scored 30 points in the fourth quarter alone and never gave up. Most teams would have nothing left after being down 31-3. The same can be said for the majority of fans who could not stick it out for the whole game. However our great team and the great fans who stayed enjoyed a heck of a comeback. Scoring 30 points in one quarter is pretty fricken impressive. Imagine a team scoring 120 points in a game.
i never asked for d all the above. We almost lost to fricking troy formerly known as troy state a team that use to lose to mcneese and northwestern a few short years ago. I love how all you fricktards rally around this like we beat USC or something.

We had no chance to win......or did we?
But it was so cold.....it was in the forties, try being a Green Bay fan
I paid for my tickets and I'll leave when I please......give them to someone who really wants to be there
Everyone around me was being negative.....are you serious?
BTW there were more Michigan fans in their stadium at halftime and they are 3-8. We are 7-3 w/ a chance of going to the Cotton Bowl. They are all but dead this year and they still have support.
The question some people need to ask themselves is: would you still attend the game if you knew (were 100% certain, could predict the future) we were going to lose?
ESPN was right this time.

Marlon Favorite and a few other players were doing it too.
Apparantly they are either stupid or gay.
Please, live a little people. Don't bash us arm wavers for trying to retain sanity and stay warm. At least we had faith in our team and stayed until the bitter end. Get off your high horse and stop prentending to be that badass who couldn't wave his arms.

Lee was 13 for 34 (38%) with 4 interceptions (including a pick 6) as well as 1 TD. His efficiency was 69.13, which is 20 points lower than his previous worst.
He had a bad game!
He may have potential, but he certainly didn't put on a good show in this game. He had happy feet, he panicked under pressure, he telegraphed many of his passes (although possibly less so than previously) and made a good bit of crappy throws (even when he had men open and little pressure).
Yes a few passes were dropped (notably the long bomb down the sideline), but far more passes were poorly thrown.
If Lee doesn't improve and Jefferson cannot fill the void, we will likely lose another game this season.
Given the talent we have elsewhere, it is heartbreaking to see this. And, don't get me wrong, I'm not putting the blame on Lee. If he is doing his best, then thats all we can ask for as fans. However it is still difficult to watch a team with so much potential and desire lose a game like we did Saturday. I believe we were the better team and played like the better team.
Just my 2 cents. Geaux Tigers!

That was like that in my day, too, Buckaroo. And we didn't have the same calibur team to cheer for in DiNardo days.
We can't stand better than you guys did. Pretty much everyone stands.
quote:Its the student section, trust me on this one. I've sat in west upper, east upper, south endzone, and sidelines all for big SEC games, and the student section is consistently the loudest.
Immeasurable. The West Upper for all we know.
quote:I meant the stadium wide "geaux tigers" is usually started by students. The wave isn't really a cheer, I guess.
The wave is a cheer?
quote:We go psycho every time we score. I have been knocked over on countless occasions. I'll say its a tie.
The one I sat in last night.
quote:I'll give it to you. I really can't stand by my original statement because i don't really know. But lots of areas of the stadium do clear out on crappy games, not just students.
Hmmm...yet also has the most leave, too. It's the biggest collective group in the stadium. If the opposite endzone was nothing but GridIron members or the "class of 1940"...maybe they'd outdo the students?
quote:Its harder to get into LSU nowadays. We probably have more of a reserved student body in general.
Look, I was a student at LSU. I am not anti-student. My whole beef is that, IMHO, the student section has really changed and the intensity is not as electric as it was ten and twenty years ago.
Still, when we play big games, we get F***IN LOUD! My ears were ringing after the Florida and Auburn games last year. Never had that happen before sitting in any other section for any other game!

To all you student section naysayers:
Which section of the stadium stands the entire game except halftime and a few timeouts?
Which section of the stadium generates the most intimidating noise?
Which section starts stadium cheers?
Which section has the most fun?
Which section has the most people left in it at the end of the game?
Uh, oh yeah, THE STUDENT SECTION
And yes, I wish we had a student section as into the game as the Nittany Lions, but sadly we do fall short in some ways.
However, overall I have thoroughly enjoyed my time thus far as a student sitting in the student section and i can tell you there are tons of passionate people sitting by me.
I do not know how you can expect 10,000 out of 30,000 students to be complete die hards like some of us on this board, because, lets face it, LSU has more to offer than just football.
I propose we all enjoy the games, hit volleyballs if we wish, do the cheers if we wish, and yell our asses off at the opposing team, but more importantly have a DAMN GOOD TIME watching our DAMN GOOD TEAM!
Peace.

haha, that's good.
I love reading this stuff at 3am while taking a break from homework.

You're on the other team's 20 yardline. There's 1 minute left on the clock. You're down by 1 point. You've been running it on them to get it to their 20. You have an inexperienced QB.
There's still a minute left.
You're inexperienced QB has made some great throws under pressure.
The defense is off guard.
You're aready in field goal range.
You have balls.
You're not an average coach coaching an average team with average, delusional fans.
