Hey man, my son shows similar symptoms to yours and was non verbal, developmental delays, GI issues etc .. GI issues are VERY common for those on the spectrum and can contribute to his symptoms. We began working with a doctor in Nashville who did extensive testing and supplement regimine. Within a couple of months our son became a different kid and started talking and even got to "graduate" speech therapy. It's been a heck of a ride but we're figuring out his gut issues as well.
Because of my son's delays we met two other families who have triad stem cell on their children with autism. Both have seen significant progress in their children as a result. Don't let any Doctor tell your there's nothing wrong or there's nothing you can do and for the love of God do not let them keep vaccinating your son until he sees someone that treats these types of issues. If he has the MTHFR gene or just problems detoxing he will get worse. Prayers to you and your family.

Would have never been interested in this game in years past but Cass has a solid squad of athletes this year. Rome also lost a 4 star tight end and 3 star LB due to transfers. Regardless, they will still be loaded.

A few things can happen at that point. If they truly don't want to off themselves and are at rock bottom, that's actually a good place to be. Change can happen because they are forced to do something different than what they have been. They are forced to take a look at themselves and start dealing with their issues. You can help them by speaking some truth and love into their life. Don't lie to them but be straight up about their situation and remind them that there are ways out. Even if they don't see them. It's also important they know you'll be there no matter what.
On the flip side, a self defeating, victim mentality can happen. They will stay in that mentality because they don't believe they can face their demons, or they believe others have created what has caused "rock bottom." If this is the case there is absolutely nothing you can do to help them other than pray and tell them that they have more control than they believe at the moment.

re: Is anxiety real or is it all in peoples heads?
Posted by Highheat on 10/12/22 at 12:13 pm
There's nothing wrong with your question. Yes anxiety is real and if you have never experienced it on a chronic level then it is definitely hard to understand how it works. Hence your question. I started having anxiety in high school and it escalated in college to the point I couldn't leave my bedroom. Before this I thought those with anxiety or depression were the "soft" type or "attention seeking." I can assure that this just isn't the case in most circumstances. There can be a genetic component to predispose you to anxiety but it is usually triggered but something environmental. The specific reason is different for everyone.

That's interesting. My tickets say specifically that a screen shot wont get you in the game.
Electronic tickets on gameday
Posted by Highheat on 8/28/22 at 2:52 pm
Has anyone here had any issues accessing or utilizing tickets on their phone on gameday? I know with certain devices when there are large crowds around it can be tough to load anything on your phone. Trying to make the gameday experience as stress free as possible. Thanks in advance for any feedback!

re: A Poison Tree, by William Blake. Let’s talk about what this means

I think it's about how harboring hate eventually ends in death. Spiritually and relationally. "And into my garden stole
When the night had veiled the pole." I think this part is referring to the pole as the North pole. Or a true north, guiding light, it has been "veiled" or covered. When we harbor hatred we eventually act out of it instead of love and lose our way.
I think the second stanza the author is describing the fake kindness they are exhibiting to the enemy. "Sunned with smiles and deceitful wiles"
The enemy doesn't realize the true feelings of the author, and sees the fruit (their relationship) as a good and healthy thing. But, once the got closer and tasted of the apple, they realized it was poisoned in hatred. The death, in my opinion, isn't physical but death to a relationship.
In the last two lines the author is glad to see them gone. They are no longer a problem to them now.
