re: NAACP urges boycott

As far as players go, this would never work for football. Boycotting would likely end both college and potential NFL careers, they'd be blackballed like Colin Kaepernick.
Basketball might possibly be affected. Also minor sports.
A few casual fans might choose to stay away, but I bet that would hardly be noticed.

Russia Has Lost More Than 350,000 Soldiers, New Estimate Finds
KIA
That is a low estimate of killed in action and does not include mercenaries, like the Wagner Group, or foreigners such as the North Koreans, Africans, and Syrians. It is only through 2025 so KIA in '26 are not included.
Estimates of total Russian casualties (KIA, injured, captured or missing) are 1.2 million.
By comparison, WW2 US casualties were 407,316 KIA and 671,278 wounded.

Will there be a referendum?

Did Texas, Missouri and Florida pass referendums before they gerrymandered?

Orban has conceded.
It's possible Vance's endorsement hurt more than it helped.
re: Ford in deep water after sweeping recalls hit every model since 2020 — with one exception

One could look at the recalls from another perspective.
It might be that Ford is very careful about the quality of its products and is issuing recalls to prevent serious issues.
But inverted rear camera views? That's just weird.

re: If Trump enacts the same tariffs via proper statutes, that won't violate this USSC ruling

Obviously. But substitute Congress for Trump in the title.

Pie in the sky might work on the campaign trail, but now the rubber is meeting the road. Results matter.

It's obvious Congress has the power to pass the same tariffs Trump tried to impose.
Just do it.
Just do it.

I recall the Hunt brothers silver bubble of February 1980 when Ag got up into the 50's. Thought that was insane. Now over $70. Amazing.

More importantly, even if Trump had committed the acts people have imagined him committing, would it shake the base of his support? He could shoot someone in the middle of Fifth Avenue, NYC at noon and he still would not lose his base. The whole Epstein thing is, at base, a non-issue.

re: Kamala latest claim: “I was the most qualified candidate ever to run for president.”
Posted by MilwaukeeKosherDills on 10/15/25 at 5:55 pm to SPEEDY
No she was not.
In recent years George H.W. Bush was easily the most qualified.
A stint in Congress.
Head of the CIA.
US ambassador to the UN
Vice president for eight years.
That's a heck of a resume.
Dwight Eisenhower, even though he never held a political office before the presidency, was Supremely qualified.
Other presidents and presidential candidates have been governors and/or held leadership positions in Congress. I'd put them ahead of Harris as well.

Assuming he actually was the killer, he must never again breath free air.
I don't really care if he's executed or in prison for life.
Just 22 years old. What a waste.

People with large public profiles not just politicians, but writers, artists and musicians are too often easy targets.
It would be nice if people were horrified at the prospect of frequent public killings and backed off from the violence and violent rhetoric, but I fear we humans aren't rational enough to do that.
