Sounds like this is your first time doing a fried turkey

You obviously didn't read the entire post.

I'm not debating this; I'm just listening to all of these old "expert cooks" at the plant debate it.

Either way, thanks for the advice.
I'm 54 and been frying everything imaginable since I was a kid
As soon as it hits the hot oil or after the oil temperature has gotten back up to 350 degrees?

The office cooks are debating this hard around the coffee pot this morning.

Where's the meat?

There is 5lbs of pork butt and 5lbs of smoked sausage in there.

Very strict rules and/or judging based on a perceived preference. Judges that don’t really know what they are judging (like “local celebrity”judges) Popularity contest (people that know or invite the most people get them to vote for their dish which insures their win)

All of these apply to this plant sponsored cookoff

Did the cookoff specificy how much rice, meat, etc? Not seeing any meat other than sausage, just curious what ratio of rice to meat you used.

Yes
5lbs pork butt
5lbs smoked sausage
5lbs of long grain rice
You could add any type of seasoning that you like, but you couldn’t substitute or add any other kind of meat.
Awesome!
Now tell me how ya did that for future reference.
Thanks!
I placed near the bottom of a cookoff this morning.
Everyone that tasted, it said it had a great taste, including the teams on each side of us that were also competing.

Means nothing in the grand scheme of things but it pisses me off.
No Kitchen Bouquet or any other darkening liquid was used.

Apologies for the messed up link. I don’t post many pictures here.

food is great but it’s like eating in a retirement home

Yeah, notice I didn't say great ambiance.
Tope La
Great chef- great menu- great downtown location
This team won't score 25 points in the next 2 weeks!
Tried a McRib about 10 or so years ago just out of curiosity. Threw it on the ground after the first bite.
What the hell is that pressed meat?
Looks like it hit the firmament too.
The last time that I went to one the place smelled like a dirty mop bucket and the floor was so sticky that you had to make a noticeable effort to take a step.
They hate us, so we hate them. They make no secret about that.

We only get Popeyes once every 6 months or so.
You would think that ordering on the app would make the whole ordeal easier. Nope! Still the same bad attitudes and shitty service when you get there

Edit: My wife isn’t a big fan of this

Why would she be? They hate anything that brings us joy and doesn't involve them.
Great buck!

We must be neighbors…

So, both of y'all live close to the sewage treatment plant? Nice!

Hospice care workers are the Angels of Death

I haven't had 1 friend ot family member that was "In Hospice care" that didn't die shortly thereafter.

If she's still physically fit and sharp of mind

Unfortunately, not. She's obese and in the early stages of dementia.

She's also borderline hypochondriac in some of our family's opinion. I have never seen someone that likes to go to the doctor so much or looks forward to surgeries.
