Lol look at the history.

a&m goes to the SEC and gets a Heisman so we run off mack

Texas hires Herman and starts recruiting well they fire sumlin the next season.

Texas gets to the playoffs and comes to the SEC so they fire Jimbo.

The cycle will repeat indefinitely for the next millennia
Don't fall for the aggies having some magical amount of money. Last search Bjork publicly stated they had to cut costs in football leading them to first settling on Stoops and then Elko for $7 million. To beat/match what PSU will offer it will require ~$12 million a year based on Rhules and Cignettis extensions. That means the aggies would be all in around $20 million per year with Elko and Jimbos contract until 2031 just for HC salaries. Their incentive based contract is cute until somebody comes calling.

Secondly Trev Alberts has been on the job 15 months or so and has lost a top 3 baseball coach to their biggest rival and a Texas born and bred basketball coach to Maryland. The odds of PSU pulling this off rises everyday that goes by without an extension.

Thirdly Elko is from NJ and grew up in an era where PSU was winning Championships and constantly in the top 10 just a few hours down the road. It should not shock anybody if his dream job.
Any coach with a pulse would know they could win more than 4 games and beat Kansas their first year. By that same token good luck getting a coach to come after firing the coach who ran train on the CFB world 20 months earlier. Firing Sark would be much more justified than firing O when they did.
Sure we can LSU would have done the same with O 1 season after a national championship had a couple of things gone different. Sark's buyout will be made up in one year in the SEC.
9.5? But all I heard was that LSU didn't have the money to match Jimbo's contract..
The Southland is is looking to replace 4 Texas teams. A&M, TCU, and Baylor is a good start
