This is it exactly. There is a faction of boosters that have railroad every football hire since getting Jeff Long fired in favor of Malzahn.
I call them the Order of the Benevolent Booger. Or OBB for short.
Bielema was all on Long but the shite show after that is all the OBB. Turned down a number of guys for Morris and then again for Pittman.

Are they more desirable? At the moment yes, in the grand scheme of things no.
Arkansas has a problem in its leadership. Until thats addressed it's going to be more of the same that we've all seen the past 14 years.

Ended up with a coach that lives at Oklawn. That Novell crap was just that. The order of the benevolent booger wanted Malzahn so bad they couldn't have someone better get hired. Then had no plan when Gus told them to kick rocks.

Long was fired well before Morris was hired. BP also fired himself when he refused his chance to stay.

I can answer this...I'll be as brief as I can. Boosters fired AD Jeff Long to gain back the control they had in Broyles latter years.
They went all in on Malzahn and had no backup plan when he said no! Gus did vouch for Morris and Steven Jones had a relationship with him from thier kids playing at the same HS program.
