These are the times that I wish I had FU money
I was a fat kid growing up. Similar story, but got made fun of and ate to make myself feel better. My sophomore year of high school I dropped 100lbs. I got tired of my buddies telling me stories of hooking up with girls and I couldn’t pay a girl to look at me. And I finally started getting the chicks after dropping all of that weight.
Like with anything in life, you have to find your “why”. What is the one thing that will keep you motivated day in and day out until you reach your goal?
And I’ll add that just dieting is way harder than diet and exercise. Exercise helps get the weight off faster and allows you to be able to eat more calories in a day.

Smoked some thighs and shredded them for sandwiches. Wife made a spinach artichoke dip

You queer or something?

This genuinely made me laugh out loud

Just brown them in the pot after I brown my andouille? Then put them in after I make the roux and cook the trinity and add the stock?

Sounds like a solid plan.
Probably my favorite fast food burger. Just like any other fast food, some locations are better than others.
Anyone that says it flat out sucks can meet me at Sonic.

That place is a hidden gem. I don’t go there as often as I’d like.. Maybe a handful of times a year. I’ve done some work for the owner before. He’s a very kind man.

How to know if I have shin splints?

Posted by CrawfishElvis on 12/31/25 at 6:00 pm
I’ve been increasing my miles getting ready for a marathon. Ran 15 miles Saturday at a very slow pace and noticed my shoes had lost their pop. Got new shoes and have ran 3 5ks since then. I don’t experience pain while running. But mainly once I get home and actually relax on the couch is when I notice shin pain. Nothing crazy. Just a dull pain that comes and goes. It makes me nervous because taking a break from running would ruin my training schedule. Everything I google points to shin splints but the fact that it doesn’t hurt while running makes me wonder if it’s not just some soreness.
It’s not bad. I honestly forget we have one. I’m not a fan of shoe string fries but they do offer tots. I try to stay off the ice cream but it looks like they have some pretty good options

I smoke chicken thighs for my gumbo. Everyone always compliments the smoky flavor. It’s definitely not overbearing

How was it?
quote:

t starts out liquid and turns to what looks like a wet sand then back to liquid

Yea mine is more wet sand than clump I guess. But it doesn’t go back to liquid before I get the color I want. But everything is fine after I add trinity and stock. And I was using new flour
Mine always does this. It always turns out fine, but I haven’t seen it happen in any videos I watch. I use 1.5 cups oil to 2 cups of flour.
quote:

I live for God but I drink and cuss Bc I’m human - He knows that, he created me

Of course. For me, when it comes to cussing, I think of being salt and the light. When people see me, I want them to see a Christian man. Not some sailor that goes to church on Sundays. And as far as drinking goes, the biggest mistakes I’ve made in life have involved drinking. But I’ve always had a hard time drinking without getting drunk. I realized I had a problem so I cut it out.
“If I were the devil, how would I attack me?”
A lot of people try to bend the word to fit their lifestyle, instead of bending their lifestyle to live by the word.
quote:

Largely, people who don't cuss are like people who don't drink....I don't trust 'em.

I was in this same boat for a very long time. And not very long ago. But it all changed when I started living for God.
I try not to cuss anymore, but sometimes slip up. And I would drink every now and then if I only knew when to stop.

Gumbo for lunch (cooked the night before for time sake) and etouffee for dinner.
I had one in high school. I bought a big bag of peach flavored tobacco from Walgreens.
It always got a good laugh at parties when I’d break it out and start smoking it.

I mean it’s basically like steak bologna… I put it in the same category as the frozen meatballs. You’re definitely not going to write home about it but it has its place.
