The teams not shown all have 2+ losses

For Summer League, h2h tiebreakers only matter when it's a tie between 2 teams. Point differential is the tiebreaker for multiple teams.
Looking at the standings, we'd have to win by 5+ to stay ahead of all the 3-1 teams. There are 6 other 2-1 teams that could jump us though if they win big in their final game.

A team can't have 2 rookies with a designated rookie max that were acquired by trade, so the Pelicans could make a move for Bam if they wanted to.

Yeah, he was.

re: What was the point of QB draft choices like Sean Mannion, Garrett Grayson, Ian Book, etc.?

I mean, I wish Payton would've moved up for Mahomes. Lattimore did turn out to be a decent pick but the Saints probably would've won a couple more Super Bowls by now if they drafted Mahomes. All of the talk came out that Payton wanted Mahomes and then Kansas City moved up to #10 to draft ahead of us at #11.
Is this how you felt at that time? The majority of fans were happy getting Lattimore since CB was a big position of need and he was projected to go 5th to the Titans by many. Also when that piece came out about how we were gonna take Mahomes if he was there, most of us at the time were pretty relieved KC traded up ahead of us.

Love the takes on this board. This guy thinks a 3rd and 4th round pick cost us championships, while others think we should’ve traded up in the 1st round to take Drew Brees’ successor and waste his rookie contract sitting on the bench.

Cool. What's an immaculate inning?
Did each batter get fertilized from the mound without penetration? Which pitcher gets credit as the father, Luis or Phil?
Might want to google what immaculate means
re: Larry Nance Jr. - best trade filler in Nola sports history

I can’t believe he was a throw-in. We got the 2 best players in the trade.
re: What are the lineup options that exclude Jax and fix the rotation issues?

Agreed, and this is my only complaint about Willie. Putting Jax and DG on the court is a negative. Spread the bulk of those minutes between Trey/Nance/Jose.

Shamit posted these too, showing the %s with Trey on the court as opposed to Jax on the court.
The spacing is so much better with Trey bc his defender doesn't leave to help. The Suns respect Trey's shot more than DG's, and obviously Trey is a way better defender than DG. Willie has been a fantastic coach and I'm glad we have him, but some of his lineup choices could improve.

Trey has to play more. Our off/def/net ratings with him on the court are far better than the ones with Jax or DG.

The NBA doesn't re-seed. The winner of NO/PHX gets the winner of DAL/UTA.
re: In hindsight, who did Griffin fleece more?

Easily the Lakers, since we essentially made the trade with Portland using the players/picks from the Lakers trade.
re: Call me crazy but I don’t think I would trade BI for AD
Posted by The 25 Jersey on 4/20/22 at 9:26 am
I'd take BI over AD at this point. Amazing that we also got:
- the pieces used to trade for CJ and Nance
- Jaxson Hayes
- a top 10 pick this year
- pick swap rights next year
- an unprotected 1st in 2024 or 2025 (our choice)

It’s happened 4 or 5 times iirc. I remember Golden State beating Dallas convincingly about 15 years ago.
re: Anyone remember when the pelicans thought they hit the jackpot in AD trade?
Posted by The 25 Jersey on 12/8/21 at 12:49 pm
Pretty dumb take. It was obvious the Lakers would "win" the trade in the short term, considering they got an elite player in his prime to pair with LeBron.
Brandon Ingram is an all-star caliber player and the Pelicans still have 2-3 unprotected Lakers 1st rounders over the next 4 years. It's still objectively a great trade for the Pelicans, considering AD was forcing his way out and the Pelicans had little leverage.

re: Convince Andrew Luck to come out of retirement...

Even if he wanted back in the league, he's on the Colts reserved/retired list. He couldn't choose which team he'd play for, it would have to be the Colts (unless they agreed to trade him).
re: Game Thread: Pelicans Vs Bulls Summer League MURPHY FOR ROY 94-77 FINAL PELICANS WIN!

I couldn't be more impressed with Trey Murphy. Obviously had a great game, but was humble in the interview and sounds like a veteran talking about his approach to the game. We got a good one.
re: Worst Saints move in CSP era

They gave out some bad contracts in the early 2010s. Jarius Byrd, Brandon Browner, Junior Galette come to mind.
re: Pass to Kamara down the Seam?
Posted by The 25 Jersey on 1/19/21 at 4:46 pm
Here's the all 22 angle at the last point before Drew starts his throwing motion:
- The Bucs are in Cover 4 quarters.
- The inside quarter on that side has already bit down on the in route (near the midfield logo).
- The backside safety has his back turned to Kamara and isn't a factor.
- Devin White is facing the LOS and Kamara will soon run past him.
- That leaves the outside quarter at the top of the screen to defend both the wheel route from the TE down the sideline and the seam route by Kamara, essentially overloading his zone.
Based on this look, I think Kamara made the right call to run down the seam. White is already breaking on where Drew is about to throw it, and he likely picks it even if Kamara breaks his route off.
That said, this play was not going to be a TD. The interior rush was breaking through...Drew doesn't have another half second to wait and launch a deep ball. He should've checked down to Callaway and taken the 5 yards.
