If is so clear we needed to start a voluntary war in Iran, so obvious, so necessary, then why didn't Trump run and win the election on "let's invade Iran"?
Why did he instead run and win on "no more stupid and expensive foreign wars, let's focus on helping ordinary Americans?"
Why did this board support him for that reason? Why did the American people and most especially swing voters elect him for that reason?
You can say "but nukes," but a) that's different from saying we have obviously needed to go to war with Iran for decades, b) we were told, by the president, that we successfully had wiped out their nuclear facilities, and c) this current cluster of a "deal" doesn't seem either to take their enriched uranium or prevent them continuing their nuclear program. So we're going to be right back to "Iran could have a nuke at any moment" within months.

It's more like people are wondering why the fire department is going to put out fires for some other town in a different country for billions of dollars, when the fire was started by that other town preemptively and then got out of control. And the town charter says that there has to be a formal declaration of fire before the fire department can be called out, but everyone just ignores that, even people who claim to be for strict enforcement of the town charter in other contexts.
