The team needs to beat the hell out of the coaches for their decision to put Brown at first!

That’s not how what works? We paid him a lot more money to leave ND and he did. He was fine with that.
Other schools are paying his recruits a lot more money to leave LSU. He has a problem with that. All of a sudden that is “unfortunate.”
Nothing I need to read up on to see that is hypocrisy.

Nothing is incorrect. But he says it’s unfortunate it’s all about money. If we offered him half of what ND was paying him would he have come to LSU? Of course not! Because in his case it was all about the money. For him to criticise others for chasing the money is hypocritical.

This coming from a guy who is getting paid $100MM! GTFOH!

Apparently, you've never been on TexAgs. Those people melt harder than anything. Just mention the words "University of Texas" on that board and they will burn you at the stake.

How is this his fault? He's the HC and, as he has stated before, the buck stops with him. He just seems like he doesn't even care anymore. He's putting in the minimal amount of effort to make it seems like he is trying but he is out to lunch now. He's just showing up in order to keep collecting a massive paycheck.
He is any business owner's worst nightmare of an employee. You can't fire him for "cause" because of how his contract is setup and have to either pay him out or deal with his mediocrity for years to come.

re: Larry Ellison paid for this deal with BU

This will eventually be corrected through some sort of rules. Same way as the NFL with a salary cap. The problem is the NCAA royally screwed up by not giving an inch on allowing any NIL type deals. The courts stepped in and the pendulum swung from one extreme to the other. It will eventually settle somewhere in the middle, but it will take a few years for that to happen.

It worked at ND mainly because they hardly ever play anyone and it was Pre-NIL. BK is a dinosaur.

I LOVE ad hominem attacks. Makes you look so witty and smart. Good job!
Bottom line is look at what Deion has done at Colorado vs what BK has done at LSU. It’s as simple as that.
LSU is a traditional football power for the last 20 years. Colorado hasn’t done anything since the phantom 5th down back in 1990.
You may not like Deion, I get it. He may be a flash in the pan however, look at what we have now. We have the fricking Titanic and you just want to bury your head in the sand. I’m willing to take a chance. Colorado did, I’d say they are satisfied with their decision.

I agree. We don’t need a 10 million dollar 18 year old to be a QB. There are plenty of good ones out there.
You’re right. There are a lot of “good ones” still out there. Problem is the “great ones” are going to cost that much going forward. Sure you can go out on a wing and a prayer and hope you find a diamond in the rough however, those are few and far between. Nowadays you need a great qb to win.

Football is King. All other sports are window dressing at LSU. It’s as simple as that. He should know that.
So is Deion the answer?
Posted by RRBengal on 11/21/24 at 9:07 pm
I know this is going to be massively unpopular around here however, hear me out.
I was a fan of Deion his first year at Colorado because he shook up how college football has traditionally been done because he could see the changes and exploited them. I can’t stand how he and his kids have acted after the first year with their pompous self-aggrandizement.
With that being said it looks like kids want to play for him even though it’s at Colorado. I’m willing to suck it up with all his baggage if he were to come here and continue to do what he is doing at Colorado. He seems to have a connection with his players which BK is sorely lacking. It’s very risky I know because he could be a ticking time bomb.
I think it’s worth the risk. Almost anything is better than BK.

So let’s face it… we will have to eat a couple more years of BK as HC because of his monstrous contract buyout. In the mean time Woody needs to go.
Let’s get an AD that doesn’t think throwing massive longterm money at a football HC is always the answer. Anyone could do that. We need someone who is going to be smart and pull the trigger when it is the right person. We need an AD that can come in and spend a couple of years to learn what we need.
Under no circumstances should Woody be allowed to make the next football HC hire.

I think if most realized that he would definitely be on the HOT SEAT or fired by now from those above the AD.
Everyone stop with this “HOT SEAT” shite! BK is not on the “hot seat” nor will he ever be. He has a GUARANTEED $100MM contract. You can’t be on the “hot seat” with that contract. Our dumbass AD allowed this to happen. He is on the “hot seat” and should be fired after this year.
re: Maybe everyone needs to lower their expectations a little.
Posted by RRBengal on 11/10/24 at 1:02 pm
For $10MM a year expectations will never be lowered. Especially after year 3 when that is how long he asked for until he is judged. Kelly is a joke and the only thing he has done successfully is to select his agent who got him an ungodly contract he did not deserve!

The hot seat?!?! Here is Kelly…”I’m here coaching for the next 7 years and making $70MM or you fire me and I’m on my couch and making $70MM.” How is that a hot seat?? He will NEVER be on the proverbial “hot seat” with the contract he has.

BK is laughing all the way to the bank

These college football coach’s contracts are out of control. Woodward is a key reason why. He gave Jimbo a massive contract that set A&M back years and now he gave BK a massive contract that will set us back years. We can’t afford to fire BK yet so we will have to eat a few more years of mediocrity until we can fire him.
When that happens Woodward CAN NOT be the one to make the next coaching hire. He has had success hiring coaches in the lesser sports but he’s a proven failure at hiring for football. Fire Woodward now and get someone in here for a few years so they can understand how LSU is and can gauge the football coaching environment.

I agree but they are worried about the home team rioting when the inevitable horrible call by the refs happens.
I can understand that. But do they, aka. the SEC, want riots in the stadium due to shitty calls of the officials who are paid a lot of money to get the calls correct in real time, as well as the replay officials who are there to help the on field officials get the call correct when it’s a no brainer they will miss something in a bang bang play and they are human and will make mistakes; or no one showing up to watch the game in person?
Bottom line is show on the stadium screen the replay; or if it’s under review, exactly what the replay officials are looking at. If the conference is scared of doing that it means they are putting their thumb on the scale in certain games which we all know happens regardless of the conference (I.e. Miami vs Virginia Tech)
