I am one to give/"loan" once. If they pay it back fine. They are available for another "gift". If they don't pay it back, I will not give/loan them any more.

I put the tooth paste on my brush sideways not long way

I have the houses in my neighborhood numbered and I know how many steps are left on my walk depending on the number

I use the coffee pods in the tray according to the day. i.e. first slot is Monday, second is Tuesday and so on.
